County Health Officer Clayton Chau has announced that Orange County residents age 65+ are now eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination as part of the County’s Tier 1 vaccination rollout plan. Today, the County’s first Super POD (Point of Dispensing) site opened at Disneyland. This Super POD, and future Super POD locations will have the capacity to vaccinate thousands of Orange County residents each day. The County is in the process of establishing 4 additional Super POD loc...ations along with smaller stationary and mobile POD locations throughout the County for the higher risk population. Residents age 65+ are encouraged to first contact their healthcare provider for vaccination instructions. Additionally, after 6 PM this evening, the County will be accepting additional registrations for vaccination appointments, for residents age 65+, through the www.othena.com online system. The Othena system is also available as a mobile app on a smart phone or mobile device. Please Note: Due to high demand and vaccine availability, appointments for residents age 65+ are being released periodically. Residents are encouraged to check the registration page regularly to see if more appointments open up. Your patience and understanding are appreciated over the coming weeks as the appointment registration process continues to evolve. Due to overwhelming response by the public, intermittent technical delays may be experienced. The City of Laguna Niguel will continue to provide updated information related to COVID-19 Vaccination, including both County and City updates on vaccination information, vaccination availability, vaccination distribution plan, Point of Distribution (POD) locations, and any specific vaccination availability located in the City of Laguna Niguel. For additional information related to the COVID-19 vaccination, please visit: www.cityoflagunaniguel.org/1235/COVID-19
