Today’s Hispanic Heritage honor is dedicated to Roberto Clemente, a legendary hero in the Latinx community. He played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and was the first Latino player to be inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame. He is remembered for his humanitarian efforts after he tragically died in a plane crash while delivering supplies to survivors after an earthquake in Nicaragua. He was proud of his Puerto Rican heritage and stood up for minority rights. Every year, each MLB club nominates a player to be considered for the Roberto Clemente Award who best represents the game of baseball through extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy and positive contributions, both on and off the field. This year, Hunter Pence of our SF Giants is a nominee! Talk about a Giant heart! Thank you for your kindness Hunter!

Today, we want to highlight the fierce Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, youngest woman to ever serve in the US Congress.
