San Francisco County has shelter-in-place orders in effect through April 7. This is an unprecedented time and we all must play our part in flattening the curve to help see us through this pandemic. City CrossFit will be physically closed starting Tuesday, March 17. While we will not be able to work out together, we are committed to continue to provide you with programming and resources to keep you active during this time. While we’re all sheltered in place, we’ll provide... workouts posted on Wodify daily, appropriate to perform at home with minimal to no equipment and include a full warm up and mobility routine. We’ll also offer an equipment loan program so that each member can check-out one piece of equipment kettlebell for use during this time. In addition we are exploring options for virtual classes and will send out information as we learn more, so stay tuned and check your email. We know that for many, fitness plays a major role in self-care and stress relief. While the option to come to the gym has been temporarily halted, our efforts to maintain our fitness during this time has not. Our community is our biggest asset and together we can emerge stronger from this. If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions during this time, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

It goes without saying that there is a lot going on in the world and our communities right now. Amid all this we want you to know that your health and safety is our number one priority. We are and will continue to monitor COVID-19 guidelines in San Francisco and keep you posted with any changes that affect our operations. We are committed to ensuring that you have a space to workout so long as it is safe to do so. We will be posting home workouts on Wodify for those who pre...fer to stay at home. As of now, please observe the following policies we are implementing during this time. 1 DO NOT COME TO THE GYM IF YOU ARE SICK. If you are not feeling well, have symptoms or are questioning your health, stay home. 2 WASH YOUR HANDS. Please wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds when you enter the gym (don’t forget to turn off the water while you're lathering up). 3 NO FIST BUMPS OR HI-FIVES. We know this will be tough especially since we love to acknowledge each other’s effort but we should limit physical contact. 4 CLASS SIZE WILL NOW BE LIMITED TO 8. To follow recommendations for social distancing, we are enforcing a strict 8 person class limit. This means it is extremely important for you to reserve your space in class in advance. There will be a wait list feature on Wodify and we will consider adding additional classes if necessary 5 FLOORS WILL BE CLEANED DAILY. Following each class block, floors will be cleaned with a mild bleach solution. 6 NO SHARING EQUIPMENT. We are no longer encouraging members to share barbells or any equipment. Each member will use their own set of equipment during the duration of class. 7 CLEAN YOUR EQUIPMENT. Use the cleaner and paper towels provided to thoroughly wipe down all the equipment you use. This includes barbell clips, pull up bars and j-hooks. 8 BRING YOUR OWN CHALK. We will be removing chalk buckets and encourage you to bring your own or use liquid chalk. We all know that working out and being fit boosts our immunity and helps decrease stress. So we encourage you to stay active and get good rest. If you have any questions during this time, please let us know.

One way to optimize the #800gChallenge is to maximize the diversity of your choices. Maximize nutrient diversity and keep things interesting by incorporating a broad array of fruits and vegetables. Also, look at long-term diversity: instead of eating the same six items every day, what kind of variety can you get across the days? And for the days you can't hit diversity - that is ok! Welcome to Day 1 of the #800gChallenge! You can now log your scores in the @wodify Rise app (don’t forget to download it). While you should weigh and measure your fruits and veggies at home or work, you can estimate quantities when eating out or on the road. A simple tip is that 1 cup of many fruits or vegetables is ~100g (except leafy greens which are ~25g/cup). As shown, a closed fist is about the size of a cup. Lighter items are closer to 100g/cup and heavier items are closer to 160g/cup. Don’t be afraid to eyeball it; you will likely be within 20-30 grams.
