#BHM. Markeda Grey Harbin is a Financial Aid/Resource Specialist for Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) at CCSF. She works diligently day in and out to provide access points and assistance to students in EOPS. As a first generation to college student herself, she understands the barriers that our most vulnerable student populations face and is committed to providing equitable services to support their academic success. Markeda goes above and beyond in EOPS as ...she provides critical financial aid advising to students and works collaboratively with campus partners like Free City and the Financial Aid office to promote student retention and persistence through college. She empowers students and supports colleagues by demystifying policies and processes around financial aid and the EOPS state-wide guidelines. In addition, she has processed thousands of EOPS applications for the office and supports students entry into the program with great care and attention to detail. This school year Markeda is tag teaming with EOPS counselors to facilitate the program's inaugural series of dynamic financial aid group counseling sessions for students. We are so fortunate and thankful for Markeda's expertise, business savviness, excellent work ethic, positive energy, and student centered practices at CCSF. You are amazing Markeda! #CCSF #ccsfmovingyouforward

#ccsfhistory. Hope every one of you had a restful day. Presidents' Day was originally established in 1885 in recognition of President George Washington. The holiday became popularly known as Presidents' Day after it was moved as part of 1971’s Uniform Monday Holiday Act, an attempt to create more three-day weekends for the nation’s workers. While several states still have individual holidays honoring the birthdays of Washington, Abraham Lincoln and other figures, Presidents' Day is now popularly viewed as a day to celebrate all U.S. presidents, past and present. #PresidentsDay
