40 DAYS OF IMPROVING YOUR BRAIN HEALTH-Day-40: Be still and know, You are what you think you are. What an incredible 40 days this has been. Thank you for the Journey. The metaphysical interpretation of the statement from the 23rd Psalms The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want fits quit appropriately here. The LORD of your life is your DOMINANT BELIEF. Your dominant belief always goes before you creating experiences like unto itself. The Lord is your Shepherd whateve...r your dominant belief is it Shepherds, it guides you through life. In biblical days a Shepherd was a very respected individual. The occupation was respected by the masses because sheep were valuable commodities and Shepherds had to make sure sheep were cared for and guided from point a to b safely. What are the dominant thoughts shepherding you around? What are you giving your primary attention to? What are you thinking about that is your Lord? By in large in our humanness we find ourselves in bondage because the Lord of our life is false belief about life. We put ourselves in prison because we believe someone else is responsible for the misery we experience and something or someone else has power over us and nothing is further from the truth. We might give it to someone or something by making it the Lord of our Life by giving it our attention (such as Little Red Riding Hood, the News) but it’s not true. WE are the power- we have it -we are it. What is the power? The ability to give my attention to something, the ability to focus, and the ability to think. The spirit of Love, Power, Intelligence and Creativity that which God has given us must be the Lord of our lives. Allow that to Shepherd you around. Don’t just get by be different seek to sore high far above the thought of the masses. Don’t be ordinary fighting others for what they have. We don’t have to be like everybody else. Your Dominant thought must be yes I can yes I will. You can’t put new consciousness in a mind that won’t let go of the old. See more

40 DAYS OF IMPROVING YOUR BRAIN HEALTH-Day-39: What are you EATING? The brain is one of the most important organs in the body. It's like the hard drive or the engine that runs the rest of the system. Although research linking diet and dementia is still in its infancy; there are a few important relationships between nutrients and brain health that all who study agree upon. Having a nourishing, well-rounded diet gives our brain the best chance of avoiding disease. What you put ...in your mouth really does count. Eating an excessive amount of sugar and fats can cause damage and interfere with your brains ability to function. It requires good nutrients just like your heart, lungs or muscles do. But which foods are particularly important to say that you are eating well? Again, the following are agreed upon by all research: salmon, tuna and sardines,(3times a week) berries (blue and black), avocado, leafy green vegetables (other colors too every day) , nuts, fiber, whole grain, dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa), eggs, apples, flax seeds, coffee, broccoli, cinnamon, extra virgin olive oil, turmeric and curry powder, and Water. The vitamins and minerals that are very important to brain functions include: Omega 3, D, B6, B12, Multi-vitamin, C, E, iron, and calcium. (Check with your doctor) Read, investigate but most of all be a watch dog over what you put in your mouth. See more

40 DAYS OF IMPROVING YOUR BRAIN HEALTH-Day-38: Meditation, Meditation, Meditation. This is how to attain the ultimate enlightenment. It opens our minds to new ideas, increases creativity, and improves memory, sense of self, empathy, and peace. Research links it to all kinds of health benefits-stress release, and better blood sugar, to name a few. It is described as "listening to the silence between thoughts". Our purpose in meditation is to consciously increase the silent sp...ace between our thoughts. People who practice meditation on the regular basis look and feel typically 10 or even 15 years younger than other persons their age. By learning to meditate we give the mind a break from the unhappy wonderings of our thoughts. We master it to be quite, calm down and chill out. There are many techniques which you might want to study and experience. However, if you have never tried, to make it simple, I suggest the following: Find a quite comfortable place. Sit upright with spine straight in a chair with feet on floor. Place your hands on thighs with palms up with index fingers and thumbs gently touching. Close your eyes and relax every muscle in your body. Take a couple of deep breaths. As your thoughts come observe them and let them pass through as if they were a movie (no attachment or opinions). You can use a sound for distraction each time you have a thought (a mantra) such as oooooohhmmm, aaaaaaaahhmmm, home, room or anything that you may choose of a similar nature. This is as if you were fast-forwarding them out of your way. Aim first for a period of 5 min with only 2 or 3 thoughts passing through. Practice, practice, practice. Allow at least 20 minutes per session. See more

40 DAYS OF IMPROVING YOUR BRAIN HEALTH-Day-37: The Benefit Of Power Naps. Have you ever had the urge to rest your eyes for just a minute or two around 3 or 4pm? Research shows that you absolutely should. Naps can be one of the most powerful tools for self-improvement. As a result you will probably have less stress, be more alert, more energy, display increased learning ability, be more efficient and have over all better health. In other words, it increases productivity, helps in making complicated decisions, makes up for insomnia, and enhances your persona in general. It is advised to keep the nap between 15 and 30 minutes. Sleeping longer takes you to a deeper stage, which is harder to awaken from. Go to a comfortable spot, set an alarm and cover your eyes if necessary and chill out!

People who engage in multitasking feel as if they are accomplishing a great deal and feel good about it. However, it has been proven that their results are not as successful or powerful as a single tasker. Practice singe tasking for a week and notice the difference, you will be amazed.

Alternate nostril breathing is a technique suggested for self-healing, self-awareness,self-love, and peace of mind. It enhances relaxation, improves sleep, and revitalizes energy and much more. 1. Use right thumb to close off right nostril 2. Inhale slowly through left nostril... 3. Pause for a second 4. Now close left nostril with ring finger and release thumb off right nostril 5. Exhale through your right nostril 6. Now, inhale through right nostril 7. Pause 8. Use thumb to close of right nostril 9. Breathe out through left nostril 10. This is one round. Start slowly with 1 or 2 rounds and gradually increase. Never force. Sit quietly for a few moments after you have finished. See more
