Belmont Shore Dining 17.11.2020

I recently went to the newly opened restaurant Roe....here's how it went..... Coming in at 7pm on a Friday, we didn't have a reservation (which you can get) so we were seated at the community table. The table was open so we sat at one of the ends.... Our waiter was fantastic and the service was great. Regarding the menu, it seemed a little limited but there were options. The problem we had was we weren't told what they didn't have. So we ordered halibut....we don't have it but we have salmon....OK. We ordered swordfish...we don't have it but we have mahi mahi (later I found out that I did have swordfish...don't know how that happened). We did start with clam chowder which was pretty good. Next came the fish. The presentation was not good as half the plate was completely empty. They can do a better job on that....and the portion was small. OK....if this fish tastes real good, I'm still OK. The swordfish El Pastor (and I LOVE PASTOR) did not have the flavor of a real Pastor. This left the fish fairly bland, My wife's salmon was average as well and she was supposed to have butternut squash but it was just a smear. Everything is a la carte (even the rolls @ $6) so we had brocollini which was undercooked. In fairness to Roe, we did not complain. The food was not bad, it just wasn't good or great. The bill for two meals and a glass of wine was $100....the value just wasn't there. To finish on a positive note, the restaurant is beautiful and the ambiance was very nice. I'm not feeling a big drive to come back but we'll see.

Had a chance to eat at a wonderful restaurant with that East Coast flavor......Brix at the Shore. Went there for dinner and started with a Nosh Caesar Salad which was delicious. Then clam chowder...make sure you ask what's in it because they have a chili sauce and a jalapeno sauce (as well as dill) that is in the soup and if you're not a big fan of those item, make sure you tell them to take them out. The sandwiches are NY style deli and awesome!!! I had the Fuhgeddaboudit ...and it was one of the best I have ever had!! Can't wait to have it again!!! Rick is the owner and was very nice, knowledgeable about the beers and great to hang out with. Tina served us and was great as well. The prices are a little higher than normal but the quality makes us for that...it is definitely worth it. When you get a chance, stop by Brix at the Shore.

The first restaurant I went to was Natraj. It is an Indian restaurant and I went for the lunch buffet. It was awesome. If you like curry, this is definitely a place to go. I had the Chicken Tandoori and the Chicken Curry.....so good. The service was excellent and prices were good. For a lunch buffet, it was $8.95 and well worth it. On the Benko scale, it received an 82.....great job, Natraj!!!
