A woman who worked 42 years for the district office of an organization that has more than 100 churches across Michigan has pleaded guilty to embezzling more than $20,000. Judy Murray, 76, of Wyandotte was charged in October with embezzlement of $100,000 or more and authorities said she ultimately took more than $200,000. "I wrote a check out of our account from my employer to myself for $200,000 and I didn't have permission to do this," Murray told a judge Friday. "

The indictment said she used church money, to supplement her business income; pay for personal expenses, including restaurant meals and spa services; and pay for vacations to various destinations, including Disney Land, LegoLand, Six Flags over Texas, and Las Vegas.

The embezzlement involved a church credit card and occurred from October 2017 until May of last year, when Anderson left her job,

If convicted, Murray faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to three times the amount embezzled.

From May 2014 until June 2015, Kovalenko is accused of embezzling approximately $37,686.97 from SOM bank accounts for personal expenses at grocery, automotive and department stores, the indictment said. Kovalenko is accused of embezzling approximately $70,404.32 from SJHBCC bank accounts for personal expenses including payments to automobile dealers, contractors grocery, automotive and department stores, online shopping outlets and online music services between January 2015 until July 2018. He is also accused of embezzling approximately $187,898.38 from SEBCC bank accounts for personal expenses including payments to an online firearm and ammunition sales company, automobile dealers, grocery, automotive and department stores, online shopping outlets and online music services from January 2015 to July 2018.

Judy Murray, 75, was charged with embezzlement of $100,000.00 or more. She had worked at the Assemblies of God Michigan District for 42 years. She faces 20 years in prison and a fine of 3 times the amount embezzled.
