CHP Helicopter Locates Two Missing Girls This afternoon, two 11 year old girls went for a short hike near Lake Hogan day use area. The hikers became lost and th...e Calaveras County Sheriff's Office requested H-20 to assist with the search. After searching a large area, H-20 located the hikers several miles away from where the families were. The helicopter crew was able to land nearby, load both hikers onto H-20 and transport them back to their families. Pilot- Vinatieri Paramedic- Boothe CHP Valley Division CHP Stockton CHP San Andreas

Congratulations to Officer Andrea Brown. She is one of the many wonderful people that have devoted their professional lives to the service of others and has made our Air Operations Program what it is today. She has changed the path of many lives and generations of families through her lifesaving skills and actions. We will miss her.

Helicopter Rescues Injured Hiker This afternoon Calfire personnel were called to the N. Fork American River near Stevens Trail for an injured hiker. He was gold... panning and fell last Sunday suffering major injuries, preventing him from getting help. The gold panner had told friends if he wasn’t back by Thursday to call for help. A friend located him this morning and called 911. H-24 was able to locate the injured hiker by GPS coordinates and land nearby. Paramedic Calcutt treated the hiker, who was then flown to Sutter Roseville Hospital for additional treatment. Pilot- Hertzell Paramedic- Calcutt CHP Valley Division CHP Grass Valley CHP Auburn

On October 19, 2019, the crew of CHP Helicopter 40 was requested by Yosemite National Park Search & Rescue to assist with the rescue of an injured climber. The... climber, a 48-year-old woman from Japan, was climbing the north face of Sentinel Rock when she fell while attached to her climbing ropes, injuring her upper body. The victim’s climbing partner assisted her to the summit of Sentinel Rock. She was eventually met by Yosemite Rescue Technicians who prepared her for the helicopter rescue. H40 hovered over the 7000’ summit while the victim was hoisted into the helicopter. After the rescue, the victim was flown by H40 to a nearby trauma center for further treatment. See more
