Today, we honor and remember the lives lost in the tragic attacks on September 11, 2001, as well as the brave women and men who have served in defense of our nation as a result of these attacks. We will never forget the ultimate sacrifice they have made for our country.

We would like to send our condolences to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department who is mourning the loss of Deputy Sheriff Carlos Cammon who lost his life on August 23, 2019.

Caltrans District 3 will continue overnight paving work along an approximate three-mile stretch of westbound Interstate 80 near Colfax Tuesday, May 26, requiring a full overnight closure of the westbound lanes. Final paving work is scheduled overnight Tuesday, May 26 through Thursday, May 28 from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Detours from Interstate 80 will be in place during the westbound closure:... Commercial and passenger vehicles will be detoured at the Interstate 80/State Route 20 junction to State Route 49 through Grass Valley and Auburn; connecting to Interstate 80 westbound via Bell Road. This detour is approximately 55 miles and will add around 40 minutes of additional travel time. Local traffic will be detoured at Secret Town Road/Magra Road to State Route 174; connecting to Interstate 80 westbound in Colfax. Permit loads will be restricted on westbound Interstate 80 during overnight paving work as the detour routes cannot accommodate wide loads. Today the 152nd Airlift Wing of the Nevada Air National Guard - Reno High Rollers honored the men and women in healthcare who are battling COVID-19. Local First Responder Agencies continued the show of support to the hospital personnel. Truckee Police, Nevada County Sheriff's Office, Truckee Fire Protection District, CHP Donner Pass, CHP - Truckee, U.S. Forest Service- Tahoe National Forest, and CAL FIRE paraded around the Tahoe Forest Health System / Tahoe Forest Hospital in Truckee.

Most people associated with Law Enforcement are familiar with the tragedy of the Newhall incident and the many changes implemented by Law Enforcement afterwards. Please join us in remembering these four officers who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the people of California.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Nevada Highway Patrol, Sergeant Ben Jenkins and his family.
