Not sure who this guy is but he is our Hero for the day. If you are merging onto a freeway, it is your responsibility to accelerate or slow in a manner which allows you to safely merge into the first lane of traffic.

Officer Brian Diaz was on patrol when he made an enforcement stop for a cell phone violation. Upon making contact with the driver, he noticed two small children in the back seat. One of the children was in a child safety seat, unrestrained, due to the seats buckle mechanism being broken. The driver explained she could not afford a new car seat. The driver and her two children had been living in motels for months until she could get back in her feet. Instead of issuing a citation, Officer Diaz had a new child safety seat delivered and installed on site. The child safety seat was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Safety, Service, and Security 24/7.

Making the right decision is not difficult, this Labor Day weekend please remember the dangers associated with driving under the influence and designate a sober driver. Our Officers will be out in full force looking for impaired drivers and will be taking the proper enforcement action in an effort to protect those traveling on our roadways. Please drive safely, and if you suspect a driver is impaired, don’t hesitate to call 911.

I challenge any CHP office throughout the state to a show us a higher mileage, mother flagship, the one and only, Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor still in service. This jewel is still making hearts jump on our desert highways at 183,733 miles as of 08/28/2020 and running strong. These ain’t no soft city miles. These are 100+ degree summer temps, and 30- degree winter temps. Arguably one of the best patrol vehicles ever produced. Bring me back....
