Happy New Year from all of us at the City of Ione Fire Department. Please take this time to test your smoke alarms and assure they are working and change the battery if needed. This is also great time to start planning for weed abatement & Fuels reduction on your property. Cut you tree limbs, 100 ft clearances, control burning of the piles.... Don't wait start now. It is all of our responsibility to do our part and protect our city from the threat of fire.

Today the City of Ione Fire Department Congratulated and wished Police chief Busby a Happy Retirement. Chief Busby was an outstanding friend of the fire department and participated with us on our many different public service events. The City of Ione Police and Fire Departments work hand in hand with each other to assure the highest level of service to our community. We want to Thank Chief Busby for all of his hard work and dedication to the police department and to our city. Happy Retirement Chief..........

The City of Ione Fire Department completed our 2020 Santa duty tonight. 2020 has been a very difficult year for everyone including Santa and the elves, this is the first year since we started the program in 1991 that we were not able to give out candy canes or have the walking elves (Our fire personnel and their family and friends) Due to COVID restrictions all our members and their families had to follow ride in the other fire vehicles behind santa. ... We really missed the interaction with all of you in the community. Thanks for coming out with all of your smiles and christmas cheer. We hope that were are back to normal 2021 We want to give a very Special THANK YOU to Dr.Kerr from the Amador county Health Department for her guidance that allowed us to be able to make Santa possible this year during this very trying time period. From All of us and our families at the City of Ione Fire Department we wish you a very Safe and Happy Holiday season.......

November 21, 2020 The Youth Fire Cadets had an Outstanding Training day. The Cadets trained with our two Rescue units (Rescue # 2 & 6) leaning both the technical information and the hands on safety of the vehicle extrication tools. We have an outstanding group of Cadets and future community leaders that we are very proud of....
