The California Hotel & Lodging Association Hospitality Foundation proudly announces the donation of $20,000 to its scholarship program from the Handlery Foundation, a gift that will support the education of the next generation of hospitality leaders.

I am honored to have been selected as a scholarship recipient. Thank you so much for the generous award! I am beyond appreciative to receive this scholarship. This coming fall will be my final year as a Hospitality and Tourism Major at San Diego State University. Within my major, I have chosen an emphasis in Restaurant Management and I am also pursuing a minor in Sustainability. Upon graduation, my career goals are to work with hotels, restaurants, and catering companies to ...make their services more environmentally conscious. Winning this scholarship means I’m given the support to work on my goals and make them a reality. Receiving this scholarship has lightened my financial burden and allows me to focus on school and take advantage of the wonderful opportunities available to me. " I am so very honored to be accepting this scholarship from CHLA this year! I’ve never seen so involved in school until I arrived at San Diego State University and if it wasn’t for my fellow students talking about how amazing this organization is and to apply I never would’ve even heard of CHLA. This is a personal big milestone for me because It shows how far I’ve come and how much I’ve accomplished at school within the first year or being at SDSU. Although we are all dealin...g with troubling times right now I plan on using this scholarship to keep me financially at bay while I strive to accomplish and conquer every class project that is thrown my way from the comfort of my own home. This upcoming semester may not be ideal stuck in the house but the lack of stress this scholarship is helping with will make the classes that much easier.
