Given the extension of shelter-in-place requirements for the Bay Area, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the in-person Spring Gala and Auction that was to be held Saturday, May 9th at the Claremont Hotel & Spa in Berkeley. For many of our attendees, this is a beloved annual event for our community; in which we can gather together and share the company of friends and also raise much needed funds for our beneficiaries. How...ever, the biggest disappointment is that we are losing the opportunity to raise a large portion of our annual gift for George Mark Children's House that comes from the Raise-Your-Paddle and Live Auction events during the Gala. . As such, we are creating a weeklong virtual event to open Saturday, May 9th and close Saturday, May 16th. While we can’t recreate the excitement and energy of a live event, your generous support is still needed and is more important than ever as our beneficiary, George Mark Children’s House, is struggling to serve it’s fragile community. We will be sending a separate communication containing all of the information for accessing our online event, which will include a Fund a Need donation page as well as a limited auction. We’ve geared our auction towards items/experiences you can use now or imminently as we continue to shelter-in-place. .
