Foot speed competition

(See comments section for second video after a week of vision therapy!) Waylon is 5 years old, and when we first saw him, he really wanted to learn to read. He would try and try, but get frustrated. His mom knew something else was going on and had Waylon tested for visual skills problems like tracking. Inaccurate tracking was one of the visual skills that was holding Waylon back. The first video shows jerky eye movements and losing track of the swinging ball. The second video (in the comments section), he's right on, even with the more difficult circular motion. Congratulations Waylon!

Congratulations Nathan! Nathan graduated from vision therapy! He said, "Reading was hard to comprehend, but now it's easy. Before (vision therapy), when reading, it was hard to keep my place." Nathan always worked hard and made huge improvements in his visual skills. Besides that, it makes us happy that he is more confident now! :) We can't wait to hear how this school year goes!

It's pretty exciting that a visible solar eclipse is coming up on Monday! Enjoy the phenomenon but please protect your eyes and do not look directly at the eclipse except for the short time it is total! You can permanently lose vision even by just looking at a crescent of an eclipse.

Mya's mom tells us that Mya has been reading more fluently and has picked up books on her own to read. Her reading level went up a grade level, her handwriting is better and has better spacing. For Mya, words don't blur, move around, or split apart anymore when she reads. Congratulations Mya!!
