Ready Player Two (Sequel to the book Ready Player One) Ernest Cline 2020... Fresh off his victory in the book Ready Player One, Wade Watts finds himself the heir and owner of Gregarious Simulation Systems, producer of Oasis, a virtual reality world used by millions of people on the planet. In a race against time, Wade and his fellow co-owners known as High Five, seek to solve a new quest called Ready Player Two. Separated by time, geography and philosophical differences, the team must set these differences aside to locate seven shards in the virtual world to save the lives of those in the physical world. Armed with the robes of Anorak, Wade inherited from James Halliday creator of Oasis, he is granted the equivalent of God mode, in a virtual world which he routinely inhabits. While the other members of High Five live and have fans mostly in the real world, Wade’s fans, like the Low Five reside mostly in the virtual world. Wade’s friends help him battle not only his insecurities but also help him to save the users of Oasis who are escaping their own dystopian realities. Ready Player Two may be enjoyed as a standalone book along with Steven Spielberg’s movie Ready Player One. It is a classic clash between the Gnostic and material world views and provides an eye opening and thought invoking interpretation of the evolution of the mores and spiritual culture of the 21st century in a digital environment. Tempered by 1980s pop and digital cultural references, which may or may not appeal to the reader, it is a fun lighthearted read which addresses the enduring problems faced by our society. Oddly, it is a book which invites deep discussion and distracts in the name of entertainment at the same time. Overall, the book is a good read and has many unanticipated plot twists which should appeal to even the most jaded readers of fiction.

Meg must batt...le her insecurity and impatience, Charles Wallace must overcome his overconfidence in his high IQ, and Calvin must manage his fear. According to their guides, it is these weaknesses which will help them save Mr. Murry who is held captive on the dark Earthlike planet of Camazotz. Armed with these weaknesses, the heroes venture forth on a world where neighbors are afraid of each other and all are afraid of an entity known as IT. A Wrinkle in Time defies categories and is not purely children’s or adult fiction or science fiction or fantasy. It is for those who wish to read a memorable and heartwarming story. It is also a story which has been banned by Christians who thought it wasn’t Christian and by secularists who thought it was too Christian. A product of its time (1962), the story meshes the thinking of Isaac Asimov and Albert Einstein with Christian theology. Suited for all audiences, it is best if the reader draws their own conclusions on this controversial and captivating Newberry Award winning book.
