Chateau La Jolla Retirement Community 27.01.2021

#COVID19 OPERATIONS UPDATE: A Message From Wendy Matalon, Managing Director Updated: February 5, 2021 We are seeing a bit of hope shining through the clouds that have surrounded us. Our main goal continues to be keeping our residents and staff safe and healthy. The dining room has been closed since November, in conjunction with county mandates. We have moved our exercise class and afternoon activity outside. Except for a few rain days, we have continued through the colder wea...ther with our hearty residents continuing to attend. We have our 5 heat lamps on to take the edge off of the chill. We are also keeping in touch with residents by phone calls, texts and/or email, newsletters with updates, games, jokes and stories as well as delivering meals daily and gifts to each twice a month. We continue to offer concierge services to assist with errands and shopping. We are also providing transportation to the Village stores and to physician’s offices. We continue to keep residents and staff abreast of changes from the County News Center. We currently have no residents or staff with COVID-19 positive test results or symptoms and are working hard to maintain that status. We have started tours again and now have virtual tours available. There are additional requirements for those who choose to tour in person such as answering some questions, wearing a mask, having your temperature taken, pulse oximeter reading and social distancing. The first week of February we hosted a COVID vaccine party. Lanoi Medical provided the vaccine for every resident and employee who wanted one! They administered 110 vaccines! In late February they will be returning to administer the second dose. We are so fortunate Lanoi Medical was willing to come to us to make the vaccines available. We are now seeing some light at the end of the tunnel. 30 days after the second dose is administered here, we will be at 75% herd immunity here in our little bubble. It has lifted the spirits of staff and residents. We will continue to remain cautious and apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused, but I am sure you understand how important our residents are to us. Our plan moving forward continues to include caution while showing you what we have available here at Chateau. To facilitate that end, we have some added highlights on our website. Check out the virtual campus tour, concert series, New Year’s video and our one and two bedroom tour by selecting one of the buttons on our COVID-19 Update Page Here: https://chateaulajollainn.com//slowing-coronavirus-and-ke/ Please continue to take every precaution to keep yourself and your family safe and healthy. We hope to see you soon. With gratitude, Wendy Matalon

#COVID19 OPERATIONS UPDATE: A Message From Wendy Matalon, Managing Director Updated: November 18, 2020... We all continue to be in the midst of a really difficult time. Here at Chateau La Jolla it is no different. Our main goal is to keep our residents and staff safe and healthy. The residents have settled into the need for wearing masks and social distancing. Many of them are self-isolating. We have opened the dining room, closed, opened, and now closed again in conjunction with county mandates. We have been able to move our 4 times a week exercise class and an afternoon activity outside. Hopefully, the weather will allow us to continue through most of the fall and winter. We are also keeping in touch with residents by phone calls, texts and/or email, newsletters with updates, games, jokes and stories as well as delivering meals daily and gifts to each twice a month. We continue to keep abreast of changes from the County News Center and pass that information on to the residents. We have had a few COVID-19 scares but currently have no residents or staff with COVID-19 positive test results or symptoms and are working hard to maintain that status. We have started tours again and have available virtual tours. There will be additional requirements for those who choose to tour in person such as answering some questions, wearing a mask, having your temperature taken, pulse oximeter reading and social distancing. We apologize for the inconvenience our caution may have caused, but I am sure you understand how important our residents are to us. Our plan moving forward continues to include caution while showing you what we have available here at Chateau. To facilitate that end, we have some added highlights here our website. #LaJolla #RetirementCommunity on #AgingGracefully - When I dream, I am #ageless, therefore #transformation can start at any age. Most people think of #retirement as an off switch. You work hard, you retire and age. But, as more and more baby boomers continue to transform the meaning of aging by pursuing their passions, aging transforms to ageless. So, if you want to be ageless, now is the time to reinvent yourself. Discover the ineffable sense of being alive, we offer some insight here: https://chateaulajollainn.com/healthy-aging/ageless/
