As teachers of the youngest humans we have an obligation to start the hard conversations and KEEP THEM GOING. In our classrooms are future lawmakers, leaders, and agents of change. At Charley Brown we strive to create a safe and inclusive space for everyone. This means we need to create environments where we can explore our awareness of racial differences and the impacts of racism and diversity. Within each tale of inequality is a valuable lesson about courage, empathy, and s...olidarity. We stand and support all who are fighting for the equality and fair treatment of Black lives because we know that Black lives matter. We will be sharing resources, activities, and conversation starters to help guide anyone who may be addressing these topics with their children for the first time. This is a marathon, not a sprint but we all need to run together to create a world where ALL children can thrive and LIVE.

October brings forth lots of celebrations! We not only have a lot of teachers anniversary's this month, but it was also the month we officially started our expansion. One year ago, today, we took a giant leap of faith, that we would make this expansion work for not only us, but for our community as well. Over the past 47 years, we have not only gained amazing teachers (29 to be exact) but have had thousands of amazing students and families come through our doors. Thanks to th...e expansion we now have the space needed to create the quality program that we have been dreaming of. With our expansion, we were able to create our Mobile Infant room as well as our Pre-K program, both of which have completely flourished and brought a new depth to our program. A depth where we are truly able to meet the needs of every student in our center with lower ratios and our comprehensive emergent curriculum. We couldn't have done it without our amazing team and supportive families. Cheers to a year! See more
