Today marks 79 years since the attack on Pearl Harbor. Congress designated Dec. 7 as National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day in August 1994 The official American death toll was 2,403, according to the Pearl Harbor Visitors Bureau, including 2,008 Navy personnel, 109 Marines, 218 Army service members and 68 civilians. Of the dead, 1,177 were from the USS Arizona, the wreckage of which now serves as the main memorial to the incident. Fifty-five Japanese soldiers also were killed. New Modular Gate 2 Now Open at Charles M. Schulz - Sonoma County Airport Santa Rosa, Calif. We were up bright and early to celebrate the opening of the remodeled Gate 2! The Airport Manager, Airport Staff, and representatives for Sonoma County Supervisor Gore, Q&D Construction, C&S Companies and Mead & Hunt participated in a pre-dawn ribbon cutting. In advance of the STS terminal modernization project, the TSA security check point has been moved, and the first passengers have made their way through. Reminder! Road work on Airport Blvd. will cause a detour from Aviation Blvd. to Skyline Blvd. from 8/21/20 7:00 PM to 8/22/20 7:00 AM. A live listing of all road closures and delays is available at http://roadconditions.sonoma-county.org/

Airport Blvd. update!

Work will begin in the coming weeks to widen Airport Boulevard west of Aviation Blvd. and is expected to be completed by year end. The project will add more lanes, bike lanes, sidewalks, lighting, crosswalks, and enhanced features for pedestrians at the railroad crossing. These improvements, part of Measure M plans, are being coordinated with SMART’s Windsor extension project for efficiency. Expect possible delays during construction.

Please be advised, the car return lot and car pick up lot are closed until August 10 due to surface sealing. Rental car drivers are being directed to the west of Long Term A. Thank you for your patience. ##STSConstruction

Please be advised: United Airlines announced that customers will be required to wear a face covering in the more than 360 airports where the airline operates around the world. The Airport's Sky Lounge Restaurant and Costeaux on the Go Cafe are open for business, offering patio dining and take out. Costeaux is serving coffee, pastry, sandwiches, salads, breakfast croissants and more, Monday through Friday from 8am 1:30pm. The Sky Lounge Restaurant is offering their menu, 7 days a week from 8am 8pm. Social distancing protocols are in place, and face coverings are mandatory.
