This is a great little video snippet on the new rescue dog in the White House, but we'd like to really point your attention to the two Bully breed dogs hanging out while the reporter and the shelter Director talk. https://www.youtube.com/watch
Join Chako's Elderbull Foster Program! Senior Pit Bulls in shelters are rarely adopted, and a shelter is a terrible place for an older dog to spend their last days. Kennels are unforgiving to aging joints, and many senior dogs just want a place to relax. Be a hospice foster to a senior Pit Bull in need. You may be their final stop, or you may be the place to crash before they are adopted. All we ask is you give your senior a soft and quiet place to crash and be willing to let them stay for as long as they need. A feel-good story: Pit Bull finds wandering toddler and sticky by him until he's reunited with his parents. https://fox2now.com//missing-toddler-reunited-with-his-f/
So many dogs that look like Pit Bulls are surrendered to shelters because their families are forced to move and cannot find housing that will accept their pet. We think it's time that home insurance companies eliminate breed blacklists. As we've said before, we're happy to help, Assemblymember Kevin McCarty!

One of our rescues' life story is now an adorable children's book. You may remember the little orphaned pup who was raffled off (unspayed) by a shelter almost six years ago. Chako volunteers were there to make sure she ended up in a loving home, and she did. She went on to show people that Pit Bulls can do awesome things, and she has a wall of ribbons to show off for her efforts. Now, you can share her motivational story with a child (or, heck, even an adult) who could use a boost of positivity and inspiration in their life! And help show the world that we want more positive stories about Pit Bulls! https://solitheorphanedpup.com/
This little orphaned pup found herself auctioned off in a northern California shelter. She was rescued, adopted, and went on to kick waggly butt in the sport of nosework. Her story has been turned into an adorable children's book! https://solitheorphanedpup.com/
10 years ago little Lucy was in the Sacramento City Shelter in Chako's Pit Bull University Program (then called the CGC program). She was labelled a "wallflower." In the program, she learned basic manners. Then, she started exhibiting dog reactivity and was set to be euthanized. We had no available fosters for her, and that broke our hearts, so I reached out to Tia of Villalobos Rescue Center, as we've occasionally reached out to each other for small things over the years. On...ly, this wasn't a small thing. Tia agreed to take Lucy, so we made the trek down to southern California (at the time). Years later, I got an email from Lucy's mom who asked about her origins and said "when she came to us, she knew basic commands and was so well behaved, I wonder if someone worked with her." That made our hearts sing. Yes! Our heroic volunteers at Pit Bull U by Chako worked with her! Without them (and Villalobos), this little girl would not have made it. See more
Check out Soli this week on Good Day Sacramento. Soli was the little orphaned puppy Chako rescued from a northern California shelter over five years ago. https://gooddaysacramento.cbslocal.com//4663160-orphaned-/
We're overjoyed to share this wonderful news: Chako rescue alumna Soli's story has been published as a children's book! https://solitheorphanedpup.com/
