In honor of what would have been our Fall Formal Dance Concert this semester, we are asking @cerritoscollege dancers to submit a video of them performing their FAVORITE Cerritos dance piece(s) from any semester of any year! Few points to remember: 1) Video can be a minimum of 15 seconds and maximum of 1.5 minutes 2) Don’t forget intentional costume choice! 3) Email the video to [email protected] as a downloadable video file or Google Drive link with editing share settings turned on with the following information listed in the email: a) Name of piece b) Name of choreographer c) Year you performed the piece at Cerritos College d) And your name, of course! We will be posting the videos on our @instagram and @facebookapp pages at the end of October to beginning of November, when our concert would normally be We look forward to seeing your reimagined performances!!

Posted @withregram @americans4arts Today’s #ShowYourArt2020 theme is Arts + Learning. It should not surprise you that the arts are part of a well-rounded education, but it’s more than that: The arts can bring about a number of positive outcomes for students, and support for arts education in our schools is nearly unanimous across the country. Yet when schools face a budget shortfall, funding for the arts is frequently the first cut. Access to arts education also is not equi...table, with studies showing that BIPOC students earn fewer fine arts credits than white students, and students with disabilities, in poverty, or with limited English proficiency do not get the same arts opportunities in school. This is why we advocate for more and equitable access to arts education, in every school, every day. These 10 fast facts about arts education can help you advocate for arts ed in your schools and community, too!
