Commemorating every November 8th Anniversary is a way to honor what happened. As time goes by, there are many things to cultivate, when reflecting on the Camp Fire. There is no question over the amount of suffering and pain it's created. That day 14,000 homes were lost, and 153,000 acres burned. Many faced a difficult lesson - material things don't last forever - Joy, peace, love, memory is what lasts longer than one's physical possessions. Rev. Andy, who lost his home, chur...ch, and had experienced the evacuation first hand, says "We have each other, our memories, our tears, frustrations, anxieties, hopes and dreams, and our new challenges... I may slip into grief, anger, joy, resentment, memories, and longing - All in one day. But I know there are some gifts of healing within that. Another staff member who lost a home in the Camp Fire adds, I work on building mental immunity and strength by asking myself how and what do I want to create moving forward? Knowing I have the power to create going forward, and not limit myself based on a past experience. Science of Mind encourages us to embrace/savor all aspects of life, including our difficult moments. We must actively honor ourselves, our experiences, and each other. Our hearts and prayers go out to everyone during the anniversary of the #2018CampFire. 2020 has brought new challenges, more fires, a global pandemic, and political divides. But, there is still a lot to be grateful for, and strives to be made in your personal and interconnected spiritual growth. The goal is growth. If you experience over whelming emotions during this time, may you find inner peace. Our Center see’s and acknowledges you with compassion. We are offering free outdoor #drumhealing ceremonies and hopefully very soon transcendental meditations again (meditation techniques used by the U.S. army). We want to offer low hurdle stress reduction tools, as well as, spiritual assistance.
