Introduction to Online Council offers an opportunity to learn the way of council, and to explore the subtleties of listening and speaking from the heart, as well as what it means to truly embody spontaneity and leanness. Two of our veteran trainers will guide you in the practice and provide the opportunity for you to practice it for yourself in small groups. Participants will be introduced to the basic components and intentions of council and will have the opportunity to develop fluency with the practice. Council is a place where we can really hear the voices of others. The intention in council is to listen without the need to agree or disagree, but simply to let others speak their truth and be heard. We come together and create a space where everyone can speak from their heart, without being judged or rejected. Listening from the Heart is one of the four intentions of Council. When we listen to nature, we don't feel the need to judge, criticize or oppose... in council, we listen to each other in that same non-judgmental way. It's surprising how different it feels when we tell our story with the knowledge that we won't be cut off, managed or rescued -- just heard. We offer each other a great gift when we sit in council and simply listen to one another with an open heart.
