Dear Community Members, We hope you are all staying healthy and safe during this challenging time, and we are looking forward to things slowly opening up soon. We miss planning events and bringing the community together! We'd like to give a big THANK YOU again to our local community members who have graciously stepped up to help the Indian students at Fresno State in their time of need. You all contributed a total of $7870, which helped 33 students with their rent and grocery... payments in April and May! This is very impressive and inspiring. These students will remember your kindness forever and pay it forward one day. We are also pleased to announce that we donated $1000 from our baseline CCSI funds to United We Stand, providing much-needed PPE to frontline healthcare workers. We are so proud of our community, and we are looking forward to seeing you all in the near future! -CCSI Team

We are pleased to announce the winners of our recent Life in the Time of COVID children’s contest. They are: Pravar Kasturi’s voice memo in the 5-10 age group Ronit Shiroy’s digital poster in the 11-13 age group Samyuktaa Jayakrishnan’s essay in the 14-17 age group We are awarding $100 Amazon gift cards to the 3 winning entries, and $25 Amazon gift cards to the other participants. Children’s Contest: Life Experiences in the Time of COVID Dear CCSI Community, We know this is an interesting time to say the least, so we thought it would be nice to hear thoughts from our youngest community members! ... We are having an essay/voice memo and digital poster contest for the kids, called Life Experiences in the Time of COVID. There will be 2 categories, and kids can submit an essay, voice memo, or digital poster. They can discuss anything they want about their experiences during this time, whether it’s what they learned, what they came to appreciate, what they took for granted, what they’ve liked or disliked during this time, what they’ll always remember, what they look forward to, and so on. Category 1: Submit either a typed essay or recorded voice memo of 200 words or less, sent to [email protected] Category 2: Submit a digital poster of any size in .jpg format to [email protected] We will have 3 age categories: 5-10 years old, 11-13 years old, and 14-17 years old. The top-placing children will receive prizes! We hope that many of your children will participate, and we look forward to hearing from our bright and creative youth! Many of them have been unable to work at their usual jobs, and they are very thankful for your generosity. CCSI is disbursing the funds directly into rent payments and groceries for over... 21 students this week and again in the first week of May.
