CCRM is looking for a new Program Manager! Please pass this along if you know someone who might be a good fit. And please join us in praying for the right person, who is called to this kind of work, to join this amazing team and work with our incredible community! https://www.erescuemission.org/about/careers/central-coast/

One of our favorite traditions at CCRM is when Lien makes beef Pho for clients in the Life Recovery Program. A lot of our guys are homeless prior to entering the program. They are just grateful for a hot Cup o Noodles! But this amazing woman and her mother make homemade Pho and bless their socks off! Thank you Jesus, for giving us the absolute BEST volunteers!

Nico earned his driver’s license back today! We’re so proud of everything he’s accomplished in the program. He’s nearing graduation and can use your prayers to finish strong.

Today we say goodbye to Jesse Moss. He graduated from LRP and is completing TLP today. During his time at CCRM he completed Allan Hancock's EMT course to be a paramedic. The incredibly generous folks at Christian's Mattress Xpress gave him the opportunity to work there as a sales associate. Jesse has thrived there for over a year, learning the ins and outs of high quality mattresses and beds. Thank you to all the volunteers, donors and others who have made Jesse's success po...ssible! Please keep him in prayer as he takes his next steps!

For many of our clients, they thrive while in program; they trip up when they start work! We are in a unique position to be able to help these guys navigate common issues like work place disputes and help them thrive in professional culture. Working at our thrift store also helps them prepare for these issues! Please keep in your prayers our Phase 3 and TLP clients who are working!

Rob, one of our volunteers took this picture yesterday. I love two things about it: 1. These guys look genuinely happy! After experiencing homelessness, addiction and all the brokenness that comes from being of the world, people come to us worn out; shells of their former selves. As they do the program and let God minister to them, they learn what it's like to be happy and sober. Thank you Jesus for that! 2. As we recognize(d) Labor Day, I'm grateful for those who labor for these men. Those volunteers who give up their time to help the hopeless in their own backyards. As well, those people who give a portion of their income to support what goes on here. And those people who pray consistently for us. We're so grateful!

You can probably intuit by how little we're posting these days: we are busy! But it's important to take time to give God glory for the work He's doing. You may remember a few times we've asked for prayer requests for Peter to find work. He comes from a career in software management, which is not an easy job to find in Santa Maria! Peter estimates he submitted 1200 applications over the course of about 4 months. A couple weeks ago Peter was finally hired for a remote job! It was a humbling reminder that our timing is not God's timing. Not only does He fulfill His promises, He takes care of our needs until He does.

I wanted to write a quick note to say, good-bye, to all of our amazing volunteers, donors, clients and customers. It was a true honor to lead CCRM during my time as director! Unfortunately, my daughter passed away recently and my wife and I have decided to move closer to our son, as God heals our family. I’m excited that Chris Rutledge is going to lead the team through this transition. I know that God will work in, around and through him as CCRM continues to Change Lives for Good on the Central Coast! Blessing to you all!

Wowzers we’ve been blessed by our request for face masks! If you don’t know, there’s A LOT going on at CCRM these days. Our thrift store Central Coast Super Thrift is running well and is a safe place for our customers to find great deals All of our program beds are filled... We are running our mobile shower trailer twice a week on Tuesday’s and Fridays (we’re so grateful for our relationships with Northern Santa Barbara County United Way and The Salvation Army of Santa Maria and Grace Baptist Church) Our Thursday night Farmer’s Market at Santa Maria Foursquare Church is still going strong. We’re providing healthy food to over 50 people every week! That is A LOT of staff, clients and volunteers to keep safe. We’re so grateful for the support we’ve received in the form of donated masks, gloves and sanitizer. Thank you for helping to change lives for good on the Central Coast!

We want to say thanks so much for the donation of masks throughout the pandemic. Those donations have enabled staff and clients to serve the least of these all over the Central Coast. With that said: We need more masks! Our supply is running low. We can use disposable or cloth masks. If you have the means, please free to take them to the mission or mail them. We’re constantly praying for our partners, donors, and volunteers. Blessings to you all!
