Kollaboration is excited to share that Jane Kim has joined the nonprofit as its new Executive Director. Ms. Kim brings over 20 years of nonprofit management experience and brings the leadership necessary to strengthen Kollaboration’s mission to discover, elevate, showcase, and connect the artistic and creative energies of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities. After an exhaustive search, we are thrilled to have Ms. Kim join as Executive Director, especially ...as we prepare to celebrate our 20th Anniversary in December, says Roy Choi, Kollaboration’s Board Chair. We are at a critical moment to advance equitable opportunities for AAPI artists and creatives in the entertainment industry. With recent awareness and commitments to diversity, inclusion, and equity, Kollaboration is positioned to advance the talents and stories of AAPI artists and strengthen our collective voices to empower through entertainment. I am honored to lead Kollaboration in supporting the next generation of emerging AAPI voices and talents poised to reshape and redefine the entertainment industry for years to come, says Ms. Kim. While we continue to support our AAPI artists, communities, and collaborative efforts, our leadership team will be focused on Board development, fundraising, and strategic planning to ensure the future growth of Kollaboration. Please join us in welcoming Jane to our Kollaboration family!

Kollaboration is proud to be an official partner for the 2020 Census for a WEEK OF ACTION! Join us on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 from 4-6pm PST, 7-9pm EST for an empowering virtual town hall focused on galvanizing the Asian American community to participate in the 2020 Census. As the Sept. 30th deadline for the 2020 Census draws near, it’s more important than ever to engage and count the nation’s marginalized communities. Currently 40% of Americans have yet to fill out the Cens...us to guide the allocation of $675 BILLION in federal funding each year for the next TEN years. Asian Americans have been identified to be the least likely to fill out the Census, which would prevent crucial allocation for needs like schools, roads, and health facilities as well as government representation. This is not a moment to stay on the sidelines. Our live-streamed event will feature inspiring panelists - Christine Chen, Tim Wang, Jason Lee, and Kavi Vu - who are ready to drop some vital knowledge and answer questions from our audience. In true Kollaboration fashion, will also feature performances by amazing APA artists - AJ Rafael, Uzuhan, and Run River North - to keep our hearts on fire throughout the event. Our community leaders and panelists are committed to ensuring that we are represented at a critical moment! Join us for these conversations, performances, calls to action, and some fun giveaways! Register NOW and invite your friends - all are welcome!
