The museum is still closed. Our gift shop team miss all of you, but we are doing our part to wear masks and social distance. Thank you Governor Newsom for your leadership and thank you past California governors. #ilovecalifornia https://twitter.com/CAgovernor/status/1274997980005675009
Thank you Sacramento! #strongertogether #ilovecalifornia
We've all been hit hard by this pandemic, and of course, so have so many nonprofits. Please consider donating even a small amount to DDSO. DDSO operates the gift shop and employs people with developmental disabilities. Thank you for your support!
Congratulations to Georgia, our Assistant Manager, for her new AA degrees in Studio Art and Interdisciplinary Humanities! Way to go Georgia!
With great sadness, DDSO - Developmental Disabilities Service Organization and Capitol Books and Gifts announce the passing of Rosemary Campana who worked at the gift shop from 1991 to 2017. Sandra May, now retired who worked with Rosemary for 25 years, describes her as a dear friend, dedicated, and wonderful co-worker to Jenny (recently retired from the gift shop). Mary Geach from the Capitol Museum Volunteer Association, remembers Rosemary's friendliness, graciousness, and sense of humor. We extend our deepest condolences to her family.
Be cool, wash your hands, and stay healthy. #flattenthecurve #slowthespread
Pursuant to Sacramento County’s ‘stay at home’ directive, the State Capitol Building is closed to the public, until further notice. We will post updates as we receive them. Our little team of gift shop staff is thinking of you and your families. #flattenthecurve #slowthespread
Following precautions regarding the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, the gift shop will be closed temporarily. We apologize for the inconvenience.
The Capitol Museum will be closed to the public on Saturday, March 14th and Sunday, March 15th. We expect to open the gift shop on Monday morning at 9:30 am. We apologize for the inconvenience.
We moved! Yes, the gift shop is still open in the Capitol Museum, it's just been moved down the hall next to the penny smashing machine. #ddsoorg #AltaRC #VMRC #DepartmentOfDevelopmentalServices #visitcalifornia #visitsacramento #downtowngrid #shopthegrid #giftshop #museumgiftshop
You can find us on the map #shopthegrid #downtowngrid. And yes, that is a Corgi on a surfboard in the photo - it's our California Adventure Map tea towel...super cute!
