PET OF THE WEEK NAME: Wendy ID#: C20-0282 AGE: 2 months... SEX: Female BREED: Domestic shorthair COLOR: Yellow tabby WEIGHT: 1 pounds Wendy came into our care at the beginning of the month after being found in Imperial, wandering the streets all by herself. Initially we believed that Wendy was much younger than she is due to her very petite size. After looking her over some more we realized that she is older than we thought and for some reason she is just a very small kitten. From the get-go, Wendy has been nothing but a pint sized fluff of love! She loves to be held and cuddled, and she loves to wrap her paws around your face to give lots of sandpaper kisses. She is by far, the most affectionate kitten we have ever had the pleasure of caring for. Although Wendy is very much loved by all of our team members, we soon hope to help her find that purrfect family who will provide her with the loving furever home that she is looking for. If you would like to set up a meet and greet with Wendy, please call or email the shelter during our business hours. Due to COVID-19, meet and greet are by appointment ONLY. Wendy’s adoption fee is $80. Adoption benefits include: - Up-to-date on vaccinations - Microchipping - Spay/Neuter - One FREE wellness check with local veterinarian 1585 W. URGENT: Feline Fosters Needed! It seems as though kitten season is never going to end this year... Our shelter is receiving SEVERAL phone calls and emails on a daily basis from community members who have found either mother cats with kittens, or litters of kittens who have been abandoned. As much as we would love to help them, unfortunately we have not been able to accommodate these feline families due to the lack of fosters... In order for us to take these cats and kit...tens off the streets and into our care, foster homes must first be in place. A shelter is full of funny smells, loud noises and can very stressful for moms with babies. When stressed, mom may neglect her kittens and mom and/or kittens may fall ill. To ensure that moms and kittens receive optimal care, a quiet and comfortable place (such as your home) is required. A wide range of fosters are needed: - Fosters for bottle babies. - Fosters for younger and teenage kittens. - Fosters for nursing moms with kittens. If needed, we will supply fosters with necessary food and supplies, OR fosters can choose to purchase their own supplies and use those purchases as a tax write off! Rest assured, however you choose to foster, our staff will be close by to assist you should the need arise. We will also provide you with all the care information that is needed. Please keep in mind that fostering is temporary, but length of fostering varies from case to case. Sometimes fostering can last as little as a couple of weeks, to as long as a couple of months. If any of our Imperial Valley community members are able to open their hearts and homes to some feline friends in need, please let us know! ***Please note that any potential fosters may be subject to screening.***

PET OF THE WEEK NAME: Lilee ID#: C20-0260 AGE: 3 months... SEX: Female, spayed BREED: Domestic medium hair COLOR: Black WEIGHT: 4 pounds Lilee was brought into our care about a month ago from Brawley Animal Control. She was found inside the Brawley Walmart and she had to be trapped using a cat trap because she was very feral. We had taken her in to be spayed and had her ear tipped through our TNR program and had intended to release her back near the store. The day after she came back from her spay appointment, for whatever reason she decided she wasn’t feral anymore. Although she still would hiss when approached she would allow us to take her out of her kennel to pet and love on her. Lilee has gotten to the point where she will purr and rub up on whoever is holding her. From time to time she will still hiss when approached, but we all know this little feral faker is nothing but a little fuzz ball full of love. If you would like to set up an appointment for a meet and greet with Lilee, please call or email the shelter during our business hours. Due to COVID-19, meet and greets are by appointment only. Lilee’s adoption fee is $80. Adoption benefits include: - Up-to-date on vaccinations - Microchipping - Spay/Neuter - One FREE wellness check with local veterinarian 1585 W. PET OF THE WEEK NAME: Casper ID#: C20-0245 AGE: 3 years ... SEX: Male, neutered BREED: Domestic short-hair COLOR: White WEIGHT: 12 pounds Casper was brought into our care at the beginning of August by a nice lady who had been caring for him in her neighborhood. When he came in he had a severely infected wound on his neck that was clearly a bite from being in a fight. We are not sure if he was the one who started a fight, but being that he is such a HUGE sweetheart and doesn’t have a mean hair on his body, we are assuming he was a victim of some tomcat foolery. Upon his arrival he was placed on antibiotics for the wound and it healed up very nicely. After healing, we took him in to be neutered and decided to run a SNAP test on him to see if he was clear of illness. Unfortunately, we learned that Casper is FIV-positive Do not let this deter you! Although he is FIV-positive, this handsome boy is fully capable of living a long, healthy and happy life. Casper loves to lounge about on his bed and he loves to get in some much needed belly rubs. We do not know how Casper is with other cats, but we do know that he does not seem to mind dogs and he LOVES people! If you don’t fall in love with his amazing personality, you’ll fall head over heels with him when you gaze into his beautiful ocean blue eyes! Casper the friendly cat would make a purrfect addition to any family that is willing to open up their hearts and homes to a very special kitty in need. If you would like to set up an appointment for a meet and greet with Casper, please call or email the shelter during our business hours. Due to COVID-19, meet and greets are by appointment only. Casper’s adoption fee is $25 (for the month of August only). PET OF THE WEEK NAME: Bella ID#: C20-0003 AGE: 3 years... SEX: Female, spayed BREED: Domestic short-hair COLOR: Black/white WEIGHT: 12 pounds Bella came into our care from Animal Control when she was about eight months old, back in February of 2018. When Bella came in she came in with two other kittens that were always picking on her and Bella would never do anything to defend herself. We decided to put her by herself and we quickly learned that is exactly what she wanted! Being she has been in the shelter for over a third of her life, Bella is still a very shy kitty when you first meet her. She does like human affection; she loves to be pet and loves to be spoken to. Our Kitty-Cat Care Technicians say that she is very mellow and may require some time to get used to her new family. She loves to sleep in soft-comfy beds and she does like to be held and cuddled by people that she has known for a while. She will tolerate other cats and she does not mind being around small dogs. Our sweet Bella would make the purrfect companion for anyone who is looking to expand their furry family. If you would like to set up an appointment for a meet and greet with Bella, please call or email the shelter during our business hours. Due to COVID-19, meet and greets are by appointment only. Bella’s adoption fee is $25. Adoption benefits include: - Up-to-date on vaccinations - Microchipping - Spay/Neuter - One FREE wellness check with local veterinarian. 1585 W. *** ADOPTED *** PET OF THE WEEK NAME: Belle... ID#: C20-0231 AGE: 3 months SEX: Female, spayed BREED: Domestic medium hair COLOR: White/black WEIGHT: 3 pounds Belle was brought into our care back in May of this year when she was about five days old. Someone had found her all by herself in their yard and brought her to the shelter. We immediately placed her into the care of one of our most experienced bottle feeders. Belle is still with her foster family and they say that she is a hoot! Belle is a very energetic kitten and loves to play. Her foster family tells us that they like to call her Crazy Cat because she loves to run and bounce all over the place when she plays. She is also a brave little soul and is not afraid of anything! She can often be found climbing on and playing with the dogs that are with her in her foster home. Belle is definitely a little fuzz ball of pure energy, but she is very sweet and gets along with everyone that she meets. She would make the purrfect companion for anyone who is looking to expand their furry family. If you would like to set up an appointment for a meet and greet with Belle, please call or email the shelter during our business hours. Due to COVID-19, meet and greets are by appointment only. ID#: C20-0191 AGE: 2 months SEX: Male, neutered BREED: Domestic shorthair COLOR: Champagne Tabby WEIGHT: 3 pounds Gregory came in to our care on Wednesday of last week. At around 8:30 pm that night, as our evening staff was getting ready to leave for the night; one of them noticed a cage left at our front gate. Sure enough there was an animal in it and that animal was Gregory We immediately contacted one of our kitty foster moms and she agreed to take him in right away, and he has been in a foster home with her since that night. Like most animals that are abandoned, Gregory is no different than the others. He can forget being tossed aside, forgive and is able to show nothing but unconditional love for anyone that he meets. Gregory is one of the sweetest and most loving kittens that we have ever had in our care. His foster mom says that he is very curious, he loves to explore and he loves to eat! She also told us that he does very well with his foster siblings who are cats and dogs. Gregory is ready to find a family who is willing to give him the same amount of unconditional love that he has to give.
