Come on down and meet our newest veterinarian! Dr. Heather Burns, a Bay Area native, was born in Oakland and spent her time growing up in the East Bay. From a very young age, Heather dreamed of becoming a veterinarian and that dream came true when she was accepted to the Royal College of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh, Scotland. Heather graduated in 2005 and immediately commenced a one year internship at Animal Specialty and Emergency Center in West Los Angeles. After comple...ting her internship, Heather has been working in both specialty emergency positions and general practice across California, as well as a stint practicing on the East Coast. In 2011 Heather returned home to the Bay Area and has been a resident of San Francisco, where she lives with her two cats and her French bulldog, Josephine. In her spare time, Heather is active in the equestrian and live music community, enjoys music festivals, cooking classes, photography, cycling and exploring the great outdoors including fishing, paddle boarding and camping. We are very excited to have her join the team!!!!
