#givingweek The Los Angeles County Animal Care Foundation has paid for many improvements to enhance the care of animals at the Los Angeles County animal care ce...nters. These include dog play yards, a catio for cats to safely enjoy the outdoors, a horse barn, soothing music in animal habitats, dishwashers to ensure proper cleaning of food and water bowls to reduce the transmission of disease, and industrial washers and dryers to launder pet bedding. Your #givingtuesday gift will fund one of the many programs, such as this one, that our communities and animals rely on. Kitten season is here! Please don’t kit-nap. Not all kittens need your help. If you find a kitten, mom is likely close by. Leave them in place and wait and see if mom comes back. Check out our website or kitten lady’s site for more information and helpful videos. #dontkitnap #dacccares https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKaGdy5-rPs http://www.kittenlady.org/webinar

Spaghettios is a lowriding 6-year-old female pitbull who came into the shelter on May 24th. This girl is super affectionate and such a lover!! She has a bouncy gait and an extra thick tail that happily wags from one side of her to the other like a stegosaurus. Spaghettios is friendly and easy to remove, she has some skin issues on her back and tail along with pododermatits on all 4 feet she is currently relaxing comfortably with a foster- but she Needs a FOREVER home! In the ...gentle/dainty playgroups, Spaghettios is social and non-reactive toward other dogs; the staff has noticed when she greets dogs, her body is tense and her hackles go up, but then her body quickly relaxes and she tries to get the other dog to play she also meanders around the yard trying to get other dogs to play with her. The staff recommends Spaghettios go to a home with kids ages middle school and older. She would be the perfect sidekick for someone who is looking for an affectionate dog! And she looks super cute in her cone! #adoptfromhome #A5367781 #dogsincones #pitbullsofinstagram #lowrider @lacoanimals call the care center 310-523-9566 for an appointment See more

Jelly Bean is a lively brindle 2-year old male pitbull/dutch shepherd mix who came into the shelter as a stray wearing a harness on May 8th. Weighing about 65lbs, Jelly Bean has medium energy, he is friendly and easy to handle. He walks nicely on the leash and only pulls through the kennels past the other barking dogs. Jelly Bean goes to the gentle/dainty playgroups where he is tolerant and non-reactive toward other dogs; he doesn’t seem to like engaging in play, but he may ...do well in a home with another large calm dog. Jelly Bean likes to be petted except doesn’t like having his paws touched. He seems to know some commands like sit, especially if a treat is involved! Jelly Bean could benefit from some confidence building, and the staff recommends he go to an adults-only home. Jelly Bean would probably love to be a hiking/adventure buddy! #adoptfromhome #A5365499 #brindlepitbull #dutchshepherd #brindlesofinstagram #pitbullsofinstagram @lacoanimals call the Carson animal care center with his ID number for adoption 310-523-9566 See more

It’s Cat time!!! Here’s Twig #A5359434 she’s been was placed in foster with her 3 kittens on March 18th. Her kittens were adopted. As you can see- she has made her self at home- but she needs a place to stay forever! Like some cats Twig is particular- her foster describes her as an Alpha (likes to be in charge) and a loner with her other cats. She is easy and independent- she may tolerate being picked up for a short period of time and also may be okay with the occasional (SHORT) tummy rub She likes to hang out and be near people. To adopt please call the Carson Care Center with her ID number for an appointment! 310-523-9566 #adoptfromhome #catsofinstagram #adoptdontshop #independentwoman #alphafemale @lacoanimals
