The SAFE Banking Act is making its way through Congress. It was re-introduced and passed in the House of Representatives and now reintroduced in the Senate. In 2020, a similar bill stalled in the Senate without a vote. If passed the bill would provide a safe harbor for financial institutions to work with cannabis companies in states like California. It's a step in the right direction for the legitimacy of a productive and promising industry.
