The California Rodeo Office will be closed for the Holidays December 25th-January 1st. See you in 2021 on January 4th!

The California Rodeo Salinas was proud to participate in the Salvation Army Monterey Peninsula's food and toy distribution today. Miss California Rodeo Salinas was there along with Dude, our mascot, all 6 of our Officers and a few Directors and one Past President. If you'd like to support small businesses in Salinas, the Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce has a bingo game going on!

In 2021, the California Rodeo Association will award scholarships to students meeting the following requirements: -Attending Hartnell Junior College -Transferring from Hartnell to a University -Graduating seniors from a Salinas Valley high school who will be attending Hartnell in the fall may also apply... -Students must be 17 years of age or older and special consideration is given to Rodeo Committee Members as well as children or grandchildren of Rodeo Committee Members in good standing More information about the current scholarship and the online application can be found at: www.hartnell.edu/students/scholarships/ Applications will be accepted starting November 9th, 2020 and are due by March 2nd, 2021. Note: Potential applicants for the California Rodeo Scholarship must have applied for admission at Hartnell College in order to have access to the online application system. Students applying for the California Rodeo scholarship will need to complete and submit an online General Scholarship Application. The moment you've all been waiting for... The Wrangler NFR bullfighters are Cody Webster, Dusty Tuckness and Nathan Jestes. The pick-up men are Jason Bottoms and Shawn 'Too Tall' Calhoun. Lastly, the barrelman is John Harrison.

It's so exciting to see some familiar names (our Salinas personnel/family) on this list. Even though we didn't get to rodeo in 2020, we are still proud of them! Congrats to Wayne Brooks, Will Rasmussen, Amanda Sanders, Matt Twitchell and to John Harrison who will be our clown next year. Good luck!

Today would have been 'purple day' at the California Rodeo Salinas if we had been able to keep our rescheduled dates, but sadly we could not. What is purple day?! Purple is the color that represents domestic violence awareness and the Man Up Crusade. We participate in the Man Up Crusade to create awareness for domestic violence and raise funds for the YWCA Montere...y County. We know you have all missed the 2020 California Rodeo Salinas as much as we have and it's been a crazy year, but we're sticking around and you should too! The 2021 bumper stickers are here and next Thursday, October 8th, you have the chance to drive through between 11am and 2pm to get the new sticker along with the two 2020 (July and October) stickers plus a 2020 Pendleton Whisky collectible lapel pin.
