How it started --> How it's going. From our humble roots 8 years ago, we've never stopped trying to make powerful products at an affordable price point. Shapeoko Pro builds on everything we've learned and takes it to the next level. Available now at https://buff.ly/3nULwlm

We're thrilled to share with you the newest additions to our family, the Nomad 3 and Shapeoko Pro. This is the result of 7 years of experience building machines and your feedback to make the best desktop CNCs we've ever put out. More details here: https://buff.ly/2HDVuGU

We did a thing. Some of the Carbide 3D team got together and did a 5k. Turns out, it wasn’t too bad and the team wants to do another one. Let’s see how we all feel once that runner’s high dissipates.

At the core of every great CNC machine is a strong, rigid structure. All of the Nomad's structural elements were already made in the USA, but this time we're bringing as much of the manufacturing in-house as possible to maintain even greater control over the quality of each part. Every mechanical interface between each of the sturdy aluminum rails and bars is machined for maximum precision. Nomad 3 is going to be rock solid and accurate. More details about our new desktop CNC milling machine will be revealed in July. Stay tuned...

Of the desktop CNCs we sell, the Nomad is the most accurate, but that doesn't mean the Shapeoko is a slouch in that department. Basic circuit board prototyping is no problem on this Shapeoko XL. Tools used: 501 PCB engraver, 0.7mm PCB drill, 112 1/16" endmill.

This Friday we will be hosting another livestream on YouTube, 1:30 PM Pacific Time. On the agenda are walkthroughs for MeshCAM version 8 (just released), as well as a new Shapeoko accessory that we'll be revealing for the first time on the stream. As always, bring other questions if you have them! #Carbide3D #Shapeoko #Nomad883 #CNC #CNCRouter #instamachinist #MeshCAM #digitalfabrication

We're doubling down on our commitment to making CNC as easy and stress-free to learn as possible. Effective immediately, all CNC machines bought from us come with a 30-day "Mistakes Are On US" warranty in addition to the 12 or 18 month coverage for defective parts. This means if you crash a machine, break a V-wheel, snap a belt, mangle your collet, or even break one of our endmills, we'll ship you a replacement part or cover labor for repairs. You should be excited to use yo...ur machine, not afraid. The only things that will not be covered are: - The MDF baseboard is a consumable item that’s meant to take a beating so don’t panic if you machine into it. That’s what it is for. - Third-party accessories and cutters (routers, clamps, dust boots, etc. anything not made by us) - Project materials. If you’re learning, stick to cheaper materials like MDF and plywood. As a reminder, connecting third party accessories (lasers, plasma cutters, etc.) still voids the warranty. Other than that, use the machine without fear and start making chips! If you break anything, let us know and we’ll take care of it, on us. See buff.ly/3c993HO for full details, limitations and legalese. Consumable items such as stock material and third party accessories are not covered.

This Friday's #CarbideOfficeHours session will provide an overview of some basic workholding options from adhesives to clamps. It'll be premiered at the usual time (1:30 PM PDT on YouTube), and we'll be around in the live chat to answer any other q's or add context for the video.

Have you seen our new Tiger Claw Clamps? These side clamps apply tremendous side pressure to keep your workpiece locked down, while keeping the top surface fully accessible for machining. https://buff.ly/2LdHNNy

On Friday we’ll be doing a short session about how to decipher speeds and feeds charts so that you can approach foreign or unknown materials with greater confidence. Let us know what you’d like to know about the topic, or if there was something regarding speeds and feeds that took you awhile to wrap your head around! #Carbide3D #CNC #CNCRouter #cncowners #cncmachining #digitalfabrication #livestream
