ZUMBIMBA is an annual celebration that honors the legacies of Africans and their descendants in Brazil: Zumbi dos Palmares: hero of the Black resistance against slavery and racial injustice. This day honors the legacy of Zumbi, leader of the settlement Quilombo dos Palmares, a refuge and place of resistance where people sought safety from the system of racialized slavery in Northeastern Brazil in the 1600s. In this video he presents the possibility of the Nuba wrestling and stick-fighting that still exists today amongs the Nuba people of Southern Sudan being depicted on the Temple of Ramesses III. Kwesi refers to Ramesses as Ramessu as how Kwesi says is originally pronounced according to the hieroglyphs meaning "born of Ra (god)". Kwesi also refers to Ancient Egypt as 'Kemet' derived from the hieroglyphs "km.t", the name that Ancient Egyptians use refer to themselves. Kewsi also introduced the term "Montu Arts" as a replacement for "Martial Arts", deifying Montu, the ancient Egyptian falcon-god of war, instead of Mars, the Ancient Greek God of war with.
