Hi everyone... Okay sooo today I spoke with the folks that do the toys for tots every year here in Placerville, you know the main st. Christmas parade event at the bell tower? So in conversation Hollis was delivering collection boxes to the businesses and I mentioned, gosh I really wish there was something like this for pets. He stated that many of the families that receive donations also have pets and that this is a great idea something he has thought about as well. He gave ...me a collection box for a trial run this year. Donations can include anything and everything a pet may benefit from such as food, dishes, litter, beds, toys, collars, leashes, dog houses, etc. I'm am going to reach out to other businesses that receive toys as well as vet offices, kennels, supply stores, etc. Basically this is something I've wanted to do for quite sometime though haven't had the faintest idea on what to call it or how to start it. I'm thinking "presents for pets" as it would include all pets from pups to fish, and everything in between. 100% of donation would be delivered to the toys for tots event on Main Street as it is well right across the street. Those donations would then be divided up and received by appropriate pet type families during this holiday season. Should there be excess it would be donated to appropriate rescues of said pet types. Okay this is my current idea and what I am working on right now to be able to start this holiday season.
