Camp Hammer

I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. -Ephesians 3: 16-19 (NLT) Although much of the forest and redwoods are charred, the sprouting of new growth shows resilience and gives hope. Please pray that we would be able to prepare the property before the rain comes to help minimize the impact winter may have. Thank you for your continued support.

We are alive! There are many things that all of us who love and hold camp dear are, and will continue to grieve from the devastation and loss the recent CZU August Lightning Complex Fire caused. Although it feels heavy and the weight of loss is sometimes hard to put into words, we hope that along with us you will continue to be the life, and love of Camp Hammer, which is God’s love to the world. We are so grateful all of the staff living at camp are safe. We got word today that the deer have made their way back onto the field to graze, and the stellar jay is making its presence heard. Krazin, aka Jenna Bostonheisel, our current High School Program Director has served at Camp Hammer for 10 summers and had been a part of the year-round staff for a few years now. As we wrap up our final summer Day-use and Movie Night on the Field, Krazin is working her last day at Camp Hammer. One of Krazin’s greatest joys in camping ministry has been serving the summer campers and staff. She has a big heart to see people become more of who they are as they learn more about G...od’s love for them. We know that she will continue to be a light and bring God’s love into the lives of others wherever she goes. Her willingness to do anything for the sake of the campers and her genuine care will be missed. We are grateful to have had Jenna in leadership where she used her talents to further develop the high school summer program called Apostle.
