Sign of the times!

Oh man, this one made me tear up. This was one of if not my favorite wedding I’ve done. Everything that could go wrong in the planning did, (pandemic, venue almost burned down the same weekend they were coming to see the venue), and yet these were the sweetest most amazing clients. They always kept perspective on what is really important. Ended up with 13 people total...his and her parents (who made me feel like part of their family), his brother, sister-in-law, and nieces, their friend who married them and his wife. There was so much love and joy, unlike anything I have experienced in my work life before. Of course we made it gorgeous, but they made it unforgettable because of who they are and the live that was there. It was the perfect end of the 2020 event season. Love it when clients become friends!

Coming into a hard season for many of our couples as more and more dates pass for our clients’ would-be weddings. If it weren’t for Covid-19, I’d be hanging with B & D and 150 of their friends and family, making wedding dreams come true along with an all-star cast of vendor friends at @rusfarmweddings While we are optimistic about the future and celebrating at a later date, I think it’s important for couples to know that it’s ok to be sad and disappointed that things aren’t a...s they had imagined. I’ve had life experiences where I’ve had to readjust my expectations of what my life and the future would look like, and it’s not usually comfortable or easy! I am a huge proponent of and tell my couples all the time...don’t do something just because you feel like you are supposed to. Focus on creating an event that reflects the two of you...that’s what makes it a great wedding! I see couples doing this frequently with the tradition of having a guest book...tweaking it and finding a way to make it special and personal to them. Spent the morning rescheduling one of my couples getting married at @rusfarmweddings this spring. Their Wine Country wedding vendors have all been so amazing in this crazy time at being flexible to make lemonade out of lemons for many couples faced with the tough decision to rebook their special day thanks to Covid-19. My favorite fringe benefit of being a wedding planner...top-notch amazing food on the regular! Catering tasting with @michi_life at @mountainhouseestate We were treated to a plethora of all types of Asian cuisine and amazing service.
