Hey everybody! My name is Clarissa Ballo and I am the face behind our social media outlets this year. I am a fourth year, Agricultural Communications major from just up the road in Templeton, California. I am excited to be a part of the team again this year and look forward to enhancing and improving our interaction, activity and outreach levels over social media. It is important to me that while we are all mostly working from ...home behind computer screens, we still feel connected in some way! This club has not only been a huge influence on getting my foot in the door of the beef industry upon starting at Cal Poly, but has furthermore been an outlet that has developed some amazing friendships, professional connections and fun, learning experiences within the industry as a whole. REMINDER! Our last meeting of the quarter is tonight at 6:30 p.m.! Please send us a message if you do not have a link and would like to join us! See more

Happy Friday! Please welcome our 2020-2021 BBQ Chairs, Mr. Payton Thomas and Mr. Jeremy Schwartz. Payton is a third year, Animal Science major coming to you from Visalia, California. Jeremy is a third year, BioResource and Agricultural Engineering major from San Carlos, California. While the BBQ is still warming up, these two gentlemen are excited to be a part of the YCA crew this year! I am a part of Cal Poly’s YCA because o...f the community of people that share a common goal. We all want to grow and learn in the beef industry. Cal Poly YCA is special because we are able to be professional, network with industry leaders, and work hard while still smiling and having fun. My extended family runs beef cattle; however, much my exposure to the beef industry while growing up was through friends and school programs. - BBQ Chair, Payton Thomas I feel very fortunate to be a part of the Young Cattlemen’s Association here at Cal Poly. This organization offers some great opportunities to become more involved in the beef industry. I would credit this mainly to the valuable insight from our variety of guest speakers, local cattlemen, as well as our great advisors. Along the way, I have also made many lifelong friendships and truly appreciate what this club has done for me. I look forward to serving as this year’s BBQ Chair and hope to see everyone in person soon. - BBQ Chair, Jeremy Schwartz #CalPolyYCA #YCA #CCA #NCBA #cattlemen #cattlewomen #ranchlifeisthebestlife

Hey Cal Poly YCA! Please welcome Miss Grace Guthrie as one of our 2020-2021 Ag Council Representatives. Grace is a fourth year, Agribusiness major. Coming to you from Porterville, California, Grace is excited to be a part of the team again this year! WHY? I will forever be grateful to the Young Cattlemen’s Association for giving me a home here at Cal Poly. In addition to camaraderie, being involved in the organization has ope...ned my eyes to the diversity of beef cattle production throughout our state and across the country. This knowledge, combined with the personal and professional connects I have built, will continue to serve me throughout my future in the industry. I am so excited to serve YCA one more year as Ag Council Representative! #CalPolyYCA #YCA #CCA #NCBA #cattlemen #cattlewomen #ranchlifeisthebestlife
