Our latest report, "Learning and Teaching During Uncertain Times," offers a comprehensive review of 41 school districts' Learning Continuity and Attendance Plans (LCPs) which were adopted last fall as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The report aims to inform school district decision-making as they develop their upcoming 202124 Local Control and Accountability Plans (LCAPs), and highlights the need for them to prioritize English learners (ELs)some of California’s most historically marginalized students and among the most impacted by the pandemic.

Introducing our Accountability Framework: We worked with many educators, advocates, and parents throughout the state to develop a framework for an effective and coherent accountability system that centralizes the needs and honors the potential of English learner students. Twenty organizations have joined us in calling upon California’s leadership to step up and finally build the system our English learners deserve, and that will serve our state’s goals of equity and quality ...education for all. We're proud to announce the release of "A Legacy of Courage and Activism," a new book from Californians Together written by our board president, Dr. Laurie Olsen. This book is a celebration of all the courageous people who have done the work to stop the injuries and damage of a schooling system that has not yet fully embraced all of our children as equally valuable and who have done the work to create new models of what schools can and should be. "Now, more than ever, it is critical for educators to connect the dots: for DLLs, language development must be coordinated within and across the academic content, even within virtual learning."
