This new temporary exhibit was developed by California First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom, who serves as the state’s representative on the Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commission. Featuring rarely-seen artifac...ts, historic photographs and interactive activities, Fight for the Right chronicles the struggle for the women’s vote from the mid-19th century to the ratification of the 19th Amendment on Aug. 26, 1920, drawing parallels to the ongoing fight for women’s equality that continues today. The California Museum reopens to the public on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020, with new health and safety protocols including increased cleaning, advance contactless ticketing, socially distanced gallery routes and face mask requirements. Visitors will be welcomed back during new hours Thursday and Friday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 12 to 5 p.m. (closed Monday through Wednesday), along with new admission pricing (advance $7 and walk-up $8-10) to encourage contactless entry.
