Not only can Jennifer D., Supervising Rehab Therapist (COAC) say, "#IGotTheVaccine," but by tomorrow, she'll also be able to say she got her second shot! "DSH-Napa's nursing leadership and staff are working hard to ensure everyone gets vaccinated!" she said. "They are so awesome!"

In 2020, showing appreciation to staff at DSH hospitals took on a whole new meaning. When an annual summer BBQ and appreciation event for Program 3 staff at DSH-Napa had to be cancelled due to COVID-19, the program managers, seniors and unit supervisors didn't give up. Once the new normal of masking, distancing and other safety practices were firmly in place, they re-emerged with a wintertime, masked-up delivery of pizza and donuts to all P3 staff! In February 2020, pre-pandemic, they held a fundraiser for their staff appreciation event and their patients' summer event (which was also cancelled due to COVID). For the fundraiser, they sold homemade chicken adobo, beef and vegetable lumpia, Japanese chicken curry, veggie beans and cornbread, and steamed rice!

Last week, DSH-Napa held an event in celebration of Dia de los Muertos ("Day of the Dead") for patients, which included pan de muerto, the traditional Day of the Dead treat, from a local Napa bakery. Patients also participated in unit activities to celebrate the memory of their loved ones. Official celebration of the Mexican holiday began yesterday and ends today. <3

Hi, I'm Jake! A happy-go-lucky registered therapy dog and DSH-Atascadero's newest team member! As an 11-year-old Rottweiler-Catahoula-Leopard Dog mix, I love playing with tennis balls, being pet and of course receiving treats!
