California City Fire Department 10.04.2021

Of the approximately 500 emergencies responded to this weekend by Kern County firefighters many required the coordinated efforts of multiple Engine and Truck Co...mpanies on scene. Take for example just two calls responded to by Kern County Fire Department’s Engine 14. Our Mojave community station coordinated the efforts of KCFD and Cal City FD firefighters to extinguish a structure fire and also to extricate a patient with life threatening injuries sustained in a vehicle accident. The structure fire required 7 Engine Companies, 2 Battalion Chiefs, 1 Safety Officer and 1 Water Tender. The rescue required 3 Engine Companies, 1 Battalion Chief, Hall Ambulance personnel and Mercy Air 14 to transport the patient by air. For over 75 years the Kern County Fire Department has proudly protected the community of Mojave, CA. The excellent service is possible in part due to the decades of being a part of the community we serve. #kerncountyfiredepartment #allhazard #california #firefighters

*California City Fire Department Firefighter Paramedic Deployed to Adventist Health Bakersfield to support COVID-19 Surge* Firefighter /Paramedic Juan Pina has been assigned to Adventist Health Hospital in Bakersfield filling the roll as a Technician Specialist Paramedic. Firefighter Paramedic Pina will be deployed for a minimum of 14-days swapping his firefighting gear for hospital scrubs. The deployment request came from the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Servic...es (Cal OES) Mutual Aid System. Having a paramedic program within the fire department allows us to provide the highest level of pre-hospital emergency care to our citizens as well as the citizens of the state. The California City Fire Department Paramedic Program has been especially crucial during these times of pandemic. The cost of this deployment will be reimbursed by the State through Cal OES. Thank you for the continuous support and efforts to stop the spread.
