Why not order tickets for your hard working employees and surprise them? Order WAJ tickets for your crew @ https://cal4wheel.org/win-a-jeep or call (916) 381-8300. cal4wheel is building a volunteer staff for our Winajeep booth at KOH, Jan. 28 - Feb. 6th. Looks like we'll be sharing space with the gracious support of Raceline Wheels, so the week should be action-packed. Please volunteer a few hours or a day if you can. Kitten Chapman is keeping track of the schedule so please contact her at [email protected]. She is also on FB as Katherine Chapman. The WAJ program is "in the black" and this is now the time that we can build a profit for this really nice Jeep put together by Master Builder JEP Autoworks .

FIRE & CAMPING RESTRICTIONS STILL IN EFFECT WITH RECORD DRY FUELS - Although the Eldorado National Forest is set to receive moisture this weekend, fire and camp...ing restrictions are still in effect to prevent an unwanted wildfire. "We've been setting records for dry fuel conditions for more than 2 months," said Forest Supervisor Jeff Marsolais. "Each day, we measure the dryness of the fuels which gives us an indication of how ready they are to burn. This measurement is compared against the same day for all previous years. Even last week, we hit 100% on 3 days which set a new all time record. As soon as we have enough moisture to make a difference in the fire potential, I will lift the restrictions." If you are planning to visit the Eldorado National Forest this weekend, here are some important things you should know: Emergency Fire Prohibition - Regional Order 20-24 is in effect until midnight, and will be replaced by Forest Order 03-20-16 which prohibits smoking and all fires except using a gas stove at least 3 feet away from any flammable material. Emergency Camping Prohibition - Forest Order 03-20-15 is in effect and prohibits camping forestwide except for in developed campgrounds. No overnight camping is allowed in dispersed areas, including Desolation and Mokelumne Wilderness areas. This order will be assessed after we receive precipitation this weekend. Camping is only allowed in open developed campgrounds. Most campgrounds have closed for the season, but reservations can still be made at www.recreation.gov. As of November 6, 2020, six developed campgrounds are still open. See news release: https://conta.cc/3k5abQQ

The Nobles Emigrant Trail is a branch of the California National Historic Trail, located outside of Susanville, California. The 100-mile stretch between Gerlach..., Nevada and Susanville, California is a very remote, unpaved corridor with no services that looks much like it did when the original emigrants migrated westward. The Smoke Creek Road follows the trail corridor along the edge of the Smoke Creek Desert, through Smoke Creek Canyon and north of the Skedaddle Mountains before intersecting with Highway 395 east of Susanville, CA. Check out our website for visit information. The original trail trace is visible in a number of locations and a number of trail markers along the corridor highlight historic features. It is truly a vast, remote and beautiful drive. Photos by Bob Wick, BLM. Bureau of Land Management - California Bureau of Land Management - Nevada

Staff from the Bishop Field Office worked with Advocates for Access to Public Lands and the Adventure Trail System of the Eastern Sierra to clear an overgrown O...HV route in the Tungsten Hills. Sometimes a little sweat goes a long way to help improve access! Thanks for helping to improve access on the trail! Kimball Stewart, BLM See more

Talked to PGE today - the release from Fordyce Lake will rise over 400cfs now so if you had any fantasy of making any of crossings, don't. Or get a kayak :-)

Thanks to all of you today we brought your pumper truck home. We will take it on the trail next week. It is so exciting and it is because of the amazing Rubicon community that makes it happen. Thank you again for all the donations and support.
