Justin Grobbel will be performing tonight 8:00-10:00! Justin Grobbel, 32, is an American singer/songwriter, guitarist, who has created a very unique and intricate style that fits a wide variety of music ranging from alternative rock, folk, pop, blues, grunge, and soul rock. His music has no boundaries and his versatility is endless that can touch almost any music lover. The hooks are non-stop and his music writing is extremely genuine and powerful. Hailing from the San Franci...sco Bay Area and writing music since the late nineties, around the age of 16-Justin has gained a passion for playing music. Growing up he's had all kinds of influences from Nirvana to Jason Mraz. Without an instructor he developed his own style of playing guitar and singing, and continues to write truly soulful, heartfelt music. Justin takes things to a whole new level with his live performances. The passion and soul oozes out of him as he delivers song after song straight from the heart. He engages the crowd and brings them in to his own little world. Justin is not to be missed. "As cliché as it may sound, I believe music has the power to change the world. Either positively or negatively or both. I strive to let my heart speak through my music with the hope that, by the grace of God, I can touch someone's life and they can relate to what I write about. Music isn't what I do, it's who I am." https://www.reverbnation.com/justingrobbel

Chora Roda will be performing tonight 7:00-9:00! Chora Roda is Brazilian Portuguese for a jam session and party. Choro is a fun acoustic instrumental style featuring intricate melodies, sophisticated harmonies, and great beats. It is an amalgam of African rhythms, classical harmonies and jazz. Tico Tico is a famous choro song you may have heard. Michael McMorrow and Laura Boytz started having rodas in public in 2016, to provide a forum for the many dedicated choro players in ...the Bay Area. Choro is fun to listen to, and if you are bold, to play! It is a great adventure for all players, including jazz, classical, Latin, African and folk musicians. Common instruments include six- and seven-string guitar, mandolin, pandeiro (a kind of frame drum), cavaquinho (cousin of the ukulele), flute, saxophone, clarinet. But we have also had Portuguese guitarra, cello, violin, upright bass, accordion, trombone and melodica -- and even some singing -- at our rodas. We bring several binders with charts to share. If you want to get an idea of choro, search for some of the following on You Tube: Jacob do Bandolim Pixinguinha Waldir Azevedo Altamiro Carrilho Trio Brasileiro Choro das 3 You can find some charts for some of the better known tunes here: http://musicishealing.com//Pagode/Library/ChoroFakebook.pdf Have questions?
