True sportsmanship!
BV Families, We hope that this update finds your families safe, healthy and ready for our county to begin opening up again! Our board continues to hold out hope that an abbreviated season this summer can happen. Although Santa Clara County is slowly reopening and restrictions are loosening, BVPB cannot move forward until both the Oak Grove School District and East Side Union High School District give us permission to use the fields again. The leaders from these districts ...have made it clear that evaluation of field use will not occur until July 1. We appreciate your ongoing patience during this unprecedented time. We sympathize with families who are awaiting more information regarding our baseball season. Our board will continue to stay in touch and share any updates we have as we get them! As always, please reach out with questions: [email protected] Your BVPB Board

On behalf of everyone at BVPB, our hearts go out to all those impacted by COVID-19 this includes not only those diagnosed with the virus, but also their friends and family, those whose jobs and schools have been impacted and so many more. Our focus is, as always, on the health and safety of our players, families and communities.
Here is our next installment of MEET THE BV BOARD: Spring 2016, while in search for my sons first organized sports experience, is when I stumbled across Blossom Valley Pony Baseball. After spending most my life as an athlete myself I was drawn towards their slogan, "Providing a more competitive youth baseball experience." My sons first season I volunteered to be an assistant Coach to help out where I could, but not feel committed to the full obligation of the tasks. After th...at season I haven't held back one bit. I have managed every spring and fall since and I joined the board to help continue this leagues growth and organization. I have met some very remarkable families within this community. I knew my son would make some great friends along the way, but I wasn't expecting myself to meet such amazing people that would turn into lifelong friends for my wife and I. On the field, as a manager, I get to share my passion for competition by teaching our youth how to play sports the right way. Watching my players mold into the great kids I knew they could be is always a rewarding feeling. I have also had the pleasure of coaching a few summer All Star teams for the league. One of my most memorable moments in this league was last summer when my Pinto All Star team won the Pony Baseball Super Regionals Tournament and advanced into the Pony World Series bracket. A memory that I will always be able to share with my son, who played on that squad. I have also spend countless hours on weekends working on our fields. Installing new mounds and base pegs, installing fences, turning dirt, cutting back grass, etc. It takes a village, and I am all in as a member of this village. Like most leagues, BV is not perfect by any means, but we are always trying to improve and get better at serving our youth! -Chris Ward, Pinto Division Director and Tournament Director
