(Drum roll) ...And here it is! The world debut of the 5th short film that I did with Braddon Mendelson, based on one of my poems. Prepare to have your mind blo...wn! (This also features the voice of Angela Danielsen) ----------------------------------------------------------- I TRY TO DREAM It’s dangerous out there So I try to dream. Take a break From the underpinning Of the spinning In my delicate, hesitant consciousness. Yearning to sleep, Sweep it away But deep silence Bounces off my soul And people stare. I wander through billowing crowds And try to convince others that I fit in. Impressions turn - The dancing goes on Pressing into the night. Blending, bending mind and body Into rhythmic patterns. Protected, projected images leap and Bound into each other. A new thought Pressures a writhing mass Of fleshy masks Into smiles and winks Of pleasure. Jungle beats abound Pounded out - Clouded and compounded By tribal technology Sounding like the clicks and thumps Of too many reasoning machines Twisting, resisting time and emotions In a frenzied whirlpool of blurred perceptions. Tossing caution aimlessly Through a targeted fog And landing late At night Late in life Tired as I am The gnawing persists. Everything isn’t done I still have to fall in love Before I can sleep.

A few year ago, Braddon Mendelson and I started making a series of short films, based on poems that I wrote. We're now finishing the 5th one, which will be cal...led "I Try To Dream." (7:45 length) Enjoy. ------------------------------------------------------- Ode To Songs That Were Never Written Going uncelebrated Great music The best words Were never written Because we’re too busy To rejoice in the whispering Echoes of what might be Unaware know-it-alls Nitpicking through our persnickety lives Distracted Drifting Naive Aimless Illusion of desire Not knowing what we don’t know We can’t hear The song that wasn’t written But it’s there Under the surface Waiting It’s joined by unwritten words Multitudes of them Songs and words A symphony of silence And I’m asking you Here and now To try to listen To my imagination And the grief I feel For the potential Of what could have been written And the notes that might resonate Somewhere
