BAC Age Group Swimmers Return to Competition Amidst the pandemic and amidst the fires that continue to impact the Bay Area, Burlingame Aquatic Club was able to find a break in the day to complete a sanctioned intrasquad meet for our Age Group Swim Team. Limiting each of our 4 sessions to 24 athletes apiece, we were able to socially distance and comply with local health guidelines throughout the weekend, as safety was our top priority. Among the first sanctioned meets in the s...tate of California since March, BAC is proud to have provided this opportunity to our team of competitive athletes as they continue to work to pursue their dreams. International swimming news outlet SwimSwam.com provided a short write-up: https://swimswam.com/pacific-swimming-back-in-action-with-/ Way to go, BAC!
BAC Race for Change Results On July 29 & 31, BAC swimmers participated in the Pacific Swimming Race for Change event! This was a great event where swimmers had an opprotunity to race and compete "virtually" against other teams. BAC swimmers raced in either the Short Pentathlon or Long Pentathlon event which was composed of 5 races. BAC had a total of 15 medalists in the Short Pentathlon event and 20 medalists in the Long Pentathlong event. ... Proceeds raised during the Race for Change event went towards supporting the Pacific Swimming Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion program. The PacSwim DEI supports many programs like meet reimbursment for low income families, grant programs for programs in need, and Diversity Camps for swimmers. Full results for the event can be viewed online: https://docs.google.com//1YrmJ3QIXfSEQLrHTFjG-lPFzRW/edit Great job BAC!

BAC Sits Down with Wellesley College Swimming and Diving Assistant Coach Dawn Dill BAC continues to offer unique learning experiences for our athletes in spite of the COVID shutdown. Coach Dawn Dill, as an NCAA All-American, the former Head Coach at both Vassar College and MIT, and as the current Assistant Coach at Wellesley College, has had a wealth of experience in competitive swimming. She sat down over Zoom with Coach Ben, whom she coached at Vassar College, to do a recor...ded question and answer, with the majority of the questions supplied by our Senior Group. Coach Dawn covered a range of topics, including her own athletic journey, recruiting best practices, her experience at some of the finest academic institutions in the country, and the origins of a couple of Coach Ben’s favorite coaching catchphrases! The Senior Group will be watching the recording tomorrow afternoon. Thank you for your generosity, Coach Dawn!

BAC Senior Swimmers Give Back to Age Group Program Today, each of our age groups had a special Q&A Zoom Session with Emory Tudor or Emma Lepisova to learn about their experience in Senior and college swimming! They shared lots of great advice, stories and lessons learned over their years at BAC. We appreciate their leadership and willingness to give back to the team! As the BAC swim team continues to practice remotely and over Zoom, the coaching staff continues to provide quality dryland programming and team building opportunities like today.
