STAFF SPOTLIGHT Yolanda Sandoval, Office Manager Yolanda is BHC's Office Manager and the newest addition to the team. She started at the organization in April 2019 as our Administrative Assistant but in 2020, she started her new position as Office Manager. Her office experience has dramatically helped our team function efficiently and she has implemented organizational systems to improve office workflow. FUN FACT: Yolanda loves to bake and cook! She is especially proud of her churro cheesecake

FREE Fluoride Treatment On Friday March 26th, join BHC & the Kids' Community Dental Clinic (KCDC) at the Verdugo Activity Center for a FREE fluoride treatment! Adults & children are welcome. STAFF SPOTLIGHT Sally Veres, Staff Accountant Sally came to our organization as a consultant to assist with our bookkeeping and finances. With her support, BHC has been able to bring a new level of professionalism to our accounting. She officially joined the BHC team in January 2020 as our Staff Accountant. FUN FACT: Sally has been running seriously for a little over two years now. She's been running in many races, even doing several virtual races. She is training to do a half marathon for the first time in May!
Congratulations to the Mary Alice O'Connor Family Center! Our partners at KinderCare Learning Centers conduct annual engagement surveys at our child development centers. The engagement survey gives a score (1-6) based on the connection that staff & families have to the center, and how it ties to our service values. This year, the MAO Family Center received the highest score possible! Thank you to all the hardworking staff who continue to provide quality childcare!
Staff Spotlight Emily Lopez, Community Outreach & Special Program Manager In 2015, Emily Lopez joined BHC as the Office Assistant and has grown into her current position of Community Outreach and Special Program Manager. Since 2018, she's built and maintained relationships with local organizations and agencies to bring relevant services to our resident population. She also manages all of BHC's digital communication. FUN FACT: Emily is passionate about environmental issues and tries to practice a sustainable lifestyle by recycling, composting, and using plastic free products.

This month is also a reminder to reflect on our country’s progress and to actively work toward a more equitable future.
Staff Spotlight Raha Arnold, Director of Operation & Asset Management Second in command is Raha Arnold, the Director of Operations & Asset Management. In 2008, Raha started at the organization as the Asset Manager. Since then, she’s worked closely with our property management team to preserve our well-maintained properties and prioritize community safety. She has lived in Burbank with her husband and two children since 2010 and is very active in the community. FUN FACT: Raha’s favorite time of year is fall! She loves Halloween and you will often see her with her cat ears throughout the month of October.

Today, our staff delivered personal hygiene products as part of our care package! With the help of Providence Community Health, we were able to distribute disposable face masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer to our residents. Being a single parent is twice the work and twice the stress! That’s why today, BHC delivered another round of self-care gift baskets to single mothers in our community! These baskets were generously donated by Jennifer Dunn, a current BHC resident. In total, she donated 14 gift baskets to our families. We’re very excited that she will be officially joining our board of directors next month!
