John Cukras, a slotcar legend, has passed and Jim decided to write a small eulogy to pay his respects. We offer our condolences to his family. John Cukras It truly was a disappointment to hear of the passing of John Cukras. A slot racing legend in the 60's and 70's and one of the founders of the S.C.R.R.A. retro racing association. He had many good ideas for the race track and was always seen with a smile... on his face. He hasn't been to the raceway for quite a while because his cancer was making his life difficult. Every time we had a retro race I realized that I really missed him. He had some great stories if you took the time to listen. I never thought that one of the toughest parts of owning a raceway is all the friends you make and then lose. I really wish that I could spend more time with each and every one of the friends that come into my track and mean so much to me. Most of them probably don't know how much I care about them and how happy I am when I get to see them again. I counted John as a friend and I hope he felt the same way about me. I know I won't be the only one who misses him. May the Lord take care of you now John and I hope to see you again. See more
