The Memorial Squadron flew their annual Memorial Day Tribute flight on Sunday, May 24th. Their route of flight took off from Livermore Airport, to Buchanan Field - CCR (where they paid tribute to Commander Dean Laird, the only Navy Ace to have shoot-downs in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters in WW2), then a low pass down Travis Air Force Base, and over the Sacramento Valley National Veteran's Cemetery. *No taxpayer dollars were used, just pilots volunteering their personal time and money to salute veterans, living and deceased. In addition, their smoke trails are an eco friendly wax based product, and all flying was conducted with local Air Traffic Control clearance and procedures.* #BuchananField #CCR

The 129th Rescue Wing will be performing a flyover of Walnut Creek around 2pm on Monday, May 25, Memorial Day. An aerial formation including one HC-130J Combat King II aircraft and two HH-60G Pave Hawk rescue helicopters are set to begin the flyover from Moffett Air National Guard Base and will pass over the north and south Bay Area medical facilities.
