I've got a customer that is looking for a resonalbly priced regional motor. Let me know if anyone has something that might work.

Everyone looses a plug tread eventually. It's not the end of the weekend. Temperature degradation of the host aluminum is common. The thread material becomes punky and fails. Always use spark plug lube or antiseize on the plugs. Don't use oil. Aircraft suppliers carry the best stuff and it won't foul the ground. Champion and AC plugs make it. Time certs are the best option if you have enough material to work with. The entire kit is not cheap but can be used without tearing d...own the motor. Grease the tap/cutter and the chips will stick. Crank the motor without the spark plug to clear. Make sure the insert is flush. Work hard to make sure the counter sink is deep enough for the insert to be flush in the head and it will stay in. Use brake to clean the hole before installing the insert. BRM Engineering uses and recommends this product. 14mm x 1.25 thread. http://www.timesert.com/ See more

I would like to use this facebook page as a resource for my friends and customers to be able to discuss FV issues, preferably technical ones. From time to time I will post some of my musings about brakes, engines and transmissions. As I progress I hope to publish procedures and advice on many common jobs on our vees and bugs. Maybe someone could start it off with a question?
